I have a Malibu 300 watt ML300rtw, timer turns to "on" pin then stops. if i manually turn timer, i can hear a click and all lights go on and stay on - they turn off no problem. pins are not broken. what next? system is 8 years old, just replaced a light, but still under the 300watt max.
Sounds like the mechanical timer assembly likely has never been lubricated, You may use a lightweight oil, such as WD-40, to lubricate the timer mechanism.
Testimonial: "you are correct sir! can i spray wd40 into area without taking apart, or should i disassemble?"
It is not necessary to disassemble the unit before lubricating... just be sure the lubricant reaches all pivots. I would, however, recommend that you do not power the unit until the liquid carrier has fully dissipated.
