Here are a couple of things to check. First look at the back inside wall of the freezer and see if it is getting coated with frost or snow. If yes, you probably have a problem with the defrost system usually the defrost heater burns out first. Once you replace the heaters, all the excess frost has to be melted off the cooling coils behind that wall. A hair dryer works well for this. Another thing t check is the fan motor that is back behind that same wall. If the fan stops for any reason--- you loose cooling on both sides.

Freezer is working, refrigerator is warm

You probably have a defrost issue with the freezer. Cold air is passed to the refrigerator section from the freezer, when the freezer does not defrost air flow to the refrigerator is eliminated causing the refrigerator to warm up. Check for icing on the back wall of the freezer. If no ice on back of freezer, check the damper assembly going to the refrigerator section.

Help please - my Kenmore Elite Bottom Freezer not cold - top refrigerator getting warm.

Have pressure taps installed, & check the refrigerant... these refrigerators have a critical charge (meaning not a lot of refrigerant to make them work) So whoever puts gauges on it, make sure they purge their hose while screwing the hose on to the new pressure tap so there is no loss of refrigerant & no air gets into the system. It sounds to me like it is low on refrigerant.

Kenmore classic bottom freezer refrigeration warm but freezer is cold

I would guess you have just caused a build up of ice to block the air way, which normally takes cold air into the fridge. manually defrost (unplug and wait until the ice goes away) then restart and it should be fine

Why do freezer coils ice up on my Stainless Steel Whirlpool refrigerator (model GB2SHDXTS)?

On your model your cntrl board has a relay that can stick causing the compressor to always run even when the unit is turned off or in defrost. turn the fridge off, move the temp of the freezer to it's warmest setting and it should display a line in the freezer and fridge temp display. listen to hear if the compressor is running in back of the unit. if it is you need part number: 12868513

Freezer vents full of frost.around every two months. Top refrigerator warm up. I resolve by removing all frost and ice from the freezer vents to clear cold path and get it to work. Possible problems...

First try melting the ice with hair dryer. See drain tube going to pan under frig? It can get clogged/frozen with ice. I cleaned mine with very warm water shot out of a water pik. Or u can hair dryer it, then pour warm water on the little pan that holds the drain tube. Be sure that tube is clear for draining.Otherwise, more ice at vents.

Frig warm, Freezer Cold

I have experienced this with other refrigerator freezers. The most likely cause is that the warming element in your automatic defrost system is no longer working. Ice is building up on the cooling coils and this prevents the refrigerator from getting cold. I have always called an appliance repairman to fix (~$150). If you're handy you can try yourself, but you still have to buy the part at retail. Good Luck

Freezer stays cool but bottom stays warm.

I agree with your analysis, and recommend that you replace that fan between the two sections.
