I put the computer m/b gf7100pvt-m3 in standby mode and if I don't start it up within 12-24hrs, it does a complete restart of xp, rather than starting up where I left off....any ideas?

Reset the CMOS on the board (remove the battery for about 5 minutes) and restart. Press 'Delete' (or the required key to enter the Bios) to re-configure the board options.
