SOURCE: Problem While printing

Hi there it seems to me that you have the printer driver set incorrectly.

First on the computer click on
Start
Then Control panel
Printers and Faxes
once in there right hand click on the pinter and select printing preferences.

Select the tray you wish to use as your default. Ok and exit that.

On the printer press the green tick button move the up or down arrow until paper handling is displayed. Select which feed either cassette or MP then sizes for this tray. Once that is complete select what media type the paper is i.e. plain preprinted or others.

(You may have to do that in the printing preferences within the driver as well)

That all going well you should now be able to press the print button and the page will come out from where you asked it from and with out pressing any buttons.

Hope this was of some help.
J

SOURCE: Canon i560 won't print black text anymore

I have now found the solution elsewhere in the internet: black text only prints on the Canon i560 if selct "normal paper", but not,for instance, if you have "professional photo-paper" selected.

SOURCE: won't print black when set for plain paper

Try removing all ink bins except black then you won't have any problems. You should also be able to go into your printer settings and select "Black and White" or "No Color" and it will print ok. Removing the ink trays is the easiest way though.

SOURCE: Canon MP980 prints horizontal pink lines across

try to change the color ink. horizontal banding (the pink or other color lines appearing means horizontal banding) when there is a problem on one of the heating element of the printer head. since almost all canon printers have head built in the inks, replacing the faulty ink will solve the problem. if not then the controller of printhead on the carriage and mainboard needs to be checked.

The roller does not roll. We can't print labels and we are open for business now.

hello tconnersvrve!
open cover - remove the paper roll and do a test print without paper. look if roller mechanic is working, if so, then re-insert paper roll correctly and do a testprint. if no move is detected, then motor or motor drive has problem - service issue.

Printer does not print a proper testprint only two or three colors printing. printhead may be damaged cleaned the printhead several times. and try to make testprints but no result.

You have an interesting printer ! I have two of them. Same problem. Basically to use ink refills one must have a chip reset utility. The cartridges are filled from the bottom and consequently leak if not sealed properly. The only solution is to use the blue grey plugs that come with some refill kits- Dell Refill kits have them - but only give you three. The next best is to use black electrical tape heated with a lighter then applied after the fill. What appears to happen is that the ink indicator may say there is ink but the cartridge is actually dry. Additionally I have found some new cartridges seem to have a vent problem - what happens is a vaccuum is created in the cartridge on head cleaning and a color will print, then not print , then the next one will do the same. Some brand new cartridges have chips also that the printer does not recognize. The solution is to use a chip reset tool and the old chip from the empty cartridge on the new one. There is a software called SSC Service Utility that works for deep cleaning and also resetting the ink pad counter - it will stop printing if the pad counter runs out. Basically if it refuses a nozzle check print - it is not getting ink or has no ink left.

Prints have a thin white line across all the images printed. Everything else works and prints are ok outside of the thin white line running horizontal across the 5x7 prints.

  • Thermal head — generates heat; prints on paper
  • Platen — a rubber roller that feeds paper
  • Spring — applies pressure to the thermal head, causing it to contact the thermo-sensitive paper
  • Controller boards — for controlling the mechanism
I think that you may need to replace your thermal head, A line means there is a place that the head can not head or it cannot recieve data

My watermarks are printing as pink instead of gray, this started happening after I changed the black cartridge. I have not made changes to the original document, and normal text still prints as black

if that is a refilled cartridge, you might have a problem with the ink. try print something (text) in pure black , and grey only, and see waht happens, if does notprint, means the printer has hard time with that black cartridge.
