It is an Epson Stylus. I bought it in Switzerland. As I said, it works here. The ink being regionally locked is the issue.
Bought in Switzerland. It works here in the US but is region locked for ink. Which means I have to order ink from Europe, which is a pain and annoying. Is there a way to break the region lock, like you can with a DVD player?

Unfortunately the Epson stylus needs both ink cartridges to print. I've tried useing an emty cartidge to "fool" the printer, but that won't work. When my Epson was ready for replacement I bought a printer (Lexmark) that prints with one cartridge empty.
have you bought genuine ink??? well if your answer is both yes or no, you can always opt to have it replaced from where you bought it, but please try to buy genuine inks, so as you will have no problems regarding ink cartridges.
Try reinstalling the inks, make sure you here a click when you press it down. If all fails you are having a hardware issue. call epson for replacement.
If you already have tried reseating all of the inks and and inks are still not recognized, Please contact Epson tech support for a replacement ink or if they find out after some diagnostics that it is the printer that is having an issue they would be replacing your printer.
