I bought older, but never used Espresso Machine. The machine was originally packed. Never taken out from the box. I was trying to run water first. Nothing. Then I read I should descale it. So I unscrewed the brewer filter. This was hard, the screw didn't want to come off. I purr some Cola on it and left overnight. In the morning I was able to unscrew it. I'm trying to run water through it. Nothing. No water No steam. I was having the same problem after not using the unit for a while. When turned on, the pump would start but, no water flow. I tried blowing water through a tube however that did not work. However I did notice water leaking from bottom of machine. I took the chance of opening the back with removing just 3 screws. I found that the tube connecting to the reservoir (connection on left) had a rip/hole. It takes patience and needle-nose pliers to remove the clamp and hose. I cut the existing tube after the hole and replaced the tube with clamp. Voila the water started to pump through and it worked like new.
From the sound of your You Tube clip the pump is running but it's probably dry and not pumping for some reason. Before I pulled it apart I would try and force some water into the pump. You may find that a piece of garden hose is roughly the right size to engage the tank seal. About a foot of it should be enough, engage the hose, fill it with water, operate the pump like you did in the video and blow as hard as you can into the top of the hose. With sealed lips like you are filling a balloon. If that doesn't work then I think you are doomed and will need to open it up and find where the water stops.

OK this is the problem which you see in more machines when not been used for a while.
you will have to prime the machine. As far as I know you can get warm water from this machine too. first decrust the brewing head as that can be one of the problems. if you still have the maintenance booklet it is picture 21 ( i think)
If this one is equiped with the warm water function press the hot water knob and let it run through. If not try to make a cup of espresso with fresh coffee. This should work

I KEEP having this problem... everything is in place, but no espresso. Nothing comes out the brew head. I have found multiple fixers for it. One: make sure you have water in the tank and that the tank is firmly pressed down (this was the most embarrassing of the mistakes I made), Two: try a slightly courser grind of espresso. On my Black & Decker burr mill, I have it on the 3 (of 12) to finest settings. Tamper only a little bit... not too hard. Three: when the flow is just not happening, try running some steam through the nozzle to see if you can get things moving along. Once I ran the steam through... it sputtered and coughed for a few seconds then steamed normally, then cooled it back down and the espresso came out fine. This was the most recent fix.

The problem with the XP4050 is the two safety valves that the water goes trough on its way to the coffee head. They are plastic and some of the parts will just become brittle because of the hot water and the contamination they gather. With my XP4050 they just broke and parts of it were in the rubber tubes that go to the waste tank.They are also very cheaply constructed compared to the more robust parts of this machine. The water to the hot water/steam head does not have these valves and has a completely different routing. I am currently trying to fix the machine with just one valve and parts of the two valves that are still good. Fingers crossed....

It needs a new flow meter. I replaced the one in mine and now it works fine. I took the old one apart and the little magnet inside is a ferrite magnet which rusts over time when it comes in contact with water ( duh). If the new one does this I am going to just replace the little magnet with a rare-earth magnet which will cost about $1 or less and shouldn't rust out. I am wondering if the company changed the magnet in the new flow meter so this doesn't happen or if planned obsellesants, just last long enough to get it out of warranty, is the company's motto. The new flow meter was around $30 when the added the $9 for shipping.

It seems as if the pump valves may be stuck then. Oftentimes once you manage to force some water through the pump it will begin to work. You may need a stronger force than you are able to manage with your mouth. Do everything you can to avoid pulling the pump out, I am fortunate enough to have a decent workshop with an air compressor but I have done the hose and mouth trick in the past.
