Perform reset.
From the service manual:
Network reset
A network reset changes all network system parameters in NVRAM to the factory defaults. During
the network-reset process, all button presses are ignored.
Use the following procedure to perform a network reset.
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Press and hold the Job Cancel button.
3. Turn on the printer and continue to hold the Job Cancel button for approximately 10 seconds,
but no longer than 20 seconds. During this process, the Attention light turns on.
4. Release the Job Cancel button. The Attention, Ready, and Go lights begin cycling from front to
back. After the network-reset process is complete, the device returns to the ready state.
NOTE If the Attention and Ready lights illuminate before you release the Job Cancel
button, start again at step 1.
Cold reset
A cold reset changes most system parameters in NVRAM to the factory defaults. However, unlike
NVRAM initialization, a cold reset does not reset the page count, the paper tray sizes, language, or
formatter number.
NOTE A cold reset also resets all the HP Jetdirect settings as well as the printer settings.
Use the following procedure to perform a cold reset.
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Press and hold the Go button.
3. Turn the printer on, and continue to hold the Go button for at least 5 seconds, but not longer
than 15 seconds. During this process, the Attention LED turns on.
4. Release the Go button.
NOTE If both the Attention and the Ready LEDs turn on before you release the Go
button, you must start the procedure again with step 1.
The printer's LEDs begin cycling. The cold-reset process runs until completion, and the printer
returns to the ready state.
NVRAM initialization
CAUTION Only perform the following procedure if absolutely necessary. Performing an
NVRAM initialization resets some parameters that cannot be restored later.
NVRAM initialization sets all default variables stored in NVRAM back to factory default values or to a
default ROM value, depending on the variable. It also performs a system reset.
NVRAM initialization resets the following:
? All menu settings to factory default values
? Factory settings such as formatter number, page counts, and factory paper settings
Use the following procedure to perform an NVRAM initialization.
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Press and hold down the Go button.
3. Turn the printer on, and continue to hold the Go button for at least 20 seconds. During this
process, the Go button, Attention, and Ready LEDs each turn on.
4. Release the Go button.
The printer lights begin cycling. After the NVRAM initialization is complete, the printer returns to the
ready state.
Super NVRAM initialization
This feature is similar to NVRAM initialization, except all of NVRAM is re-initialized (including the
configuration parameters not reset by an NVRAM initialization).
Use the following procedure to perform an NVRAM initialization.
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Press and hold the Go button.
3. Turn on the printer and continue to hold the Go button for at least 50 seconds. During this
process, the Attention, Ready, Go lights turn on. Then the Attention and Ready lights turn off,
leaving only the Go light illuminated.
4. Release the Go button. The Go, Ready and Attention lights turn on.
5. Press and hold the Go button. All lights turn off. During the next three seconds, the Go, Ready
and Attention lights turn on in that order, one per second.
6. Release the Go button to perform the initialization. The control panel lights begin cycling from
front to back. After the Super NVRAM initialization process is complete, the printer returns to the
ready state.
Proceed with caution; when you do nvram resets, it will also remove page count and formatter number, etc.
Check your mac address reservation has the correct mac and printer is set to dhcp.
I have the same printer and it works fine for me.

Testimonial: "I've already tried to reset to factory default, but nothing changed."

Network Interface is out of service

You can try resetting the NIC for future reference.

You'll need to print a NIC page first. Here are instructions on how to do that:
Print NIC Page with Network Info

Then go to the machine and do the following:

System Settings
Admin Password
The default password is admin
ok, ok
Network settings
Scroll down to Reset the NIC, execute.

Once the machine has rebooted go back to the network settings, then IP address settings. Uncheck the DHCP box then enter the IP address, Subnet Mask, and IP gateway from the NIC page you printed out.

Hope this helps.

How to enable wireless connection on dell latitude e4300

I have had this issue on DSL troubles. The most common issue is the settings for the IP address.A computer in a business location will often be set for a static IP.You can change it,but don't forget to write down the static IP settings(as soon as you click on the "bullet" for "obtain IP address automatically" ,the static info is GONE,and there's no way to retrieve it.Go to control panel/network connections, right click on the NIC or Wi-Fi connection being used, click properties, highlight Internet Protocol TCP/IP,click properties. This will show auto or static IP.

Network key for ot 800

How do I configure my NIC with a static IP for use with a SpeedTouch Home?If you are using an Alcatel SpeedTouch Home (without a router), a PPPoE client such as NTS, WinPoet, or RASPPPoE, and are experiencing stalls and freezes while surfing or connected, it may be that your NIC is not configured correctly. You must set a Static IP on your NIC. If you have it incorrectly set for "Obtain IP automatically" it will be looking for a DHCP server that does not exist. During the time the NIC is searching for the DHCP server you will experience stalls and freezes. An incorrect NIC settings will also cause the PC to take a longer time to boot up.

Unable to connect to DHCP server. getting 169.254 ip Have already tried the following: unplug/ reset reboot router; ipconfig /release /renew; Run MBAM Version 1.43; System restore to a date when connection...

Whew! Awesome troubleshooting work there.

When it's configured for DHCP, go to the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties and hit Advanced to bring up the "Advanced TCP/IP Properties" dialog.
Under the IP Settings tab, the top panel should be "IP addresses" and should have "DHCP Enabled" as the only entry, and the default gateway should be blank.

If both of those are correct, then I have one other question for you:

When you manually set an IP, are you able to use the network? If so, are you able to ping the DHCP server's address?

If so, then my guess would be that the DHCP server has a stale record for your Dell's MAC address.

Post back with the "Add Comment" button here and we'll get it working for you.

Just installed a D-Link DFE 530TX network adadpter into Dell Dimension 5000 desk top. Runnng Windows XP SP3. BT Home Hub 2.0 router. Even though broadband connection is fine to the router. The network...

Sounds like an IP address problem. Your IP address on both the NIC card (DFE 530) and the router have to be in the same address range. You can do this 2 ways. 1... Have your router hand out addresses automatically. Make sure DHCP is enabled and that you have at least one address available for it to give out. ie. 192.168.0.2 through 192.168.0.3. The first three number must be the same as the router. The other option is to manually set your IP address on your nic card to match the router. If the router is lets say 192.168.0.1 then you can assign 192.23.34.2 to your computer NIC. If you haven't been able to access your router then check your router manual to find out the default IP address and use the same number for your NIC changing only the last number. The largest number you can use is 255. Hope this helps.

Vista ultimate 32 not connecting to wireless

169.254.x.x IP suggests that your NIC is not communicating with the DHCP server of your Router. Try disabling/enabling the NIC card and in the TCP/IP properties, make sure that the IP address is configured as "Bobtain IP address automatically"
Also try installing the latest drivers for your NIC card.

Trouble networking copier to computer

you might have to set up the nic card in the machine. set it to a static IP address (not DHCP), then ping it from a PC..
If you can ping it, then instalation should find it!
I dont understand " time warner connection to rout both computors thru " ?

you should have.
One broadband Modem...
One Router which all pcs and machine's are connected to...
do ipconfig/all to figure out the pcs IP address, arp -a shows the arp table. determine what IP address to give the machine.
the machine should have a nic card with a light on it, if that light is green when you connect the cable, then the nic card is working.
then proceed to install the drivers to the PCs.

Network connection says connected but receives nothing

We are using software called Brainware Columbus to do Remote OS Deployment, Software Deployment & Remote Support. We have had LANDesk installed on all our computers, and since we uninstalled LANDesk and installed McAfee 8.7i Enterprise, we have had some difficulties with some computers where they show they are connected to our Wired Lan, but their IP settings have dissappeared, the settings are blank. When you click on the repair option for the network, it gives an error straight away, and we have also tried Uninstalled & Reinstalling the NIC, that also doesnt solve the problem. Please help
