How to reset Proscan PLT722 when you forgot your password or unlock pattern. How to remove unlock pattern on your Proscan PLT722 android tablet
To reset this tablet is a little bit tricky, because there are no physical Volume keys on the device, but we have a "hidden" RESET hole (on the side of the tablet) and using this we can easily do a factory reset on the tablet to remove the password and get access to it.
Using the Hard Reset (Factory Reset)
If you want to restore your Proscan Android tablet to its original condition, use a Hard Reset (Factory Reset) to initialize it.
1. Turn the power off.
2. Find the tiniest RESET hole on the side of the tablet next to the micro USB charger port and use a paper clip or similar tool to click it, press gently the RESET button in the hole. While you are pressing the reset button press and hold the Power button alsountil the Proscan logo comes up and the Android robot is displaying on the screen. (Note this is not the RESET hole on the back of the device.)
3. Release the Power and the reset button.
4. To get into the Android recovery menu you have to click it push it down again the tiny little RESET button in the hole and the POWER button together. Keep pushing the two buttons until the recovery menu displayed.
5. To highlight the options use the paper clip and press the RESET button to move down the highlighter bar until you get to Wipe data / Factory Reset. Press the POWER key to get in the next menu.
6. Move the bar again using the reset button and highlight Yes -- delete all data and press the POWER button.
WARNING
If you perform a Hard Reset, all user applications, user data and DRM licenses will be deleted. Please remember to backup any important data before performing a Hard Reset.

Proscan is classified as a bargain tablet in the low end range.so you should expect any kind od issues related to it. like that of power button. Obviosly you have a problem with your battery, though no way to tell "from distance" if it's prperly the battery or the charger... or both You haven't commented in your post if it works with the power adapter. Chargers can be easily diagnosed by measuring output with an electronic tester. Once you have a good charger, you should test if you can charge your battery. I understand that Proscan batteries are "lifetime", so it's not easy to replace them. You should evaluate it it's worth to buy new charrger and replace the battery or maybe buy another device. Probably you need some technical assitance for diagnosis. Take note that you can get a used tablet from Amazon from about 465 USD in good conditions, without the need of spending on repairs
Since I don't know which exact Proscan Tablet you have, here is how to restore the PLT9045K.
1) Make sure the tablet is powered down.
2) Press and hold VOLUME UP(+) and DOWN(-) buttons, plus POWER button all at the same time.
3) Insert a metal pin in the RESET hole at the back of the tablet, then push and hold it for 2 seconds, while still holding the VOLUME and POWER buttons. Make sure the pin is pushed. It seems like nothing happened, but just keep on going to the next step.
4) Power ON the tablet and immediately, PRESS and RELEASE continuously the VOLUME UP(+) button in order to get the display as showing dead tablet (dead robot).
5) This is the critical part. Make sure you do the right sequence or you will start again from the beginning. Press and hold the POWER button, then press and release VOLUME UP(+), and the display will give you a screen showing different options.
6) Choose the option wipe data/factory reset, by clicking POWER button to scroll down. To execute the selected option, press VOLUME UP(+) button. The tablet will reboot back to its factory setting.

2. unzip the file and copy the files update.zip recovery.img and factory_update_param.aml to an external micro sd card.

****NOTE***** If it fails to update then you still have the access to the recovery menu where you can do the factory wipe and still reset it.
Check for the reset pin hole on your tablet. Get a paper clip and push it 'gently' in the hole and hold it for thirty seconds. This resets the tablet.
