You may have somehow shorted the circuit by leaving a loose wire not connected tight enough or it came loose and grounded against another wire? worse yet u misconnected the wrong wires incorrectly? lastly both ur ovens work on the same voltage? 220 vrs 110

If you switch oven on it trips main power. what can cause that

Probably close to 50 things could cause that, but here are a few of the most common: Bare wire in a harness of the oven, causing a short-circuit in the line. Faulty plug on the power cord. Outlet in the wall is damaged. Loose wire in the outlet box, causing a dead short. Bad wire between the outlet box and the main breaker box. Weak breaker, or a breaker that isn't heavy enough to handle the load of the oven. (especially, if you just bought a new oven, it may need a larger breaker to handle start up.) Use a fused multi-meter (voltmeter) to check for these issues, and do not try to fix it if you are not familiar with electrical work. It could cause a fire, or give you a deadly shock.

Electronic control panel went blank and oven is beeping

The first thing I would do, because it is an "electronic" control panel is to unplug your stove, wait about 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Your Control panel may just need a reset and reboot.
If it is difficult to get to your plug-in, then go to your household breaker-panel box, and flip the switch for your stove to the off position for at least 30 seconds, then switch back to on. ...That's the same as uplugging and plugging back in at the wall.

Hope this helped hun ;-)

Frigidaire stove

Power outage could have shorted out the control panel. Call the power company and put in a claim with your insurance company. Tis happened to me & I was able to reset the oven, even with a glowing bright & dim panel. Thought everything was ok but the upper oven doesn't stay on & the oven probe doesn't work, but it's too late for me to file a claim.

No power after self cleaning

Nothing Works, or the Oven / Range / Stovetop Works Only At Certain Times:
1.Home breaker flipped or the fuse blown?Possibly an electrical surge has flipped the breaker. Check your breaker or fuse box and replace or reset as necessary.
2.Power cord plugged in?Grab the plug and wiggle to determine a good connection.
3.Power cord damage?Damaged rubber with wires showing through or the wire is being pinched can cause issues. Electrical tape is acceptable for covering damaged wires.
4.Aclicking sound could be something wrong with a relay. Check for any loose connections around the main control board on your oven. The click you hear is a relay losing power and switching back on. If the clock resets then something is causing power interruptions to the board.
5.
6.Even a bad relay door switch will hinder your oven from operating.

If your oven has internal fuses, a wiring or component problem could have caused a fuse to blow. A blown fuse is an indication that a component has shorted or failed, and the problem will need to be corrected. Most ovens that use fuses will have an indication of the circuits that are affected by a particular fuse. If an oven fuse has blown, then you should inspect the oven element and the associated wiring to determine the cause before replacing the fuse.

Stove went completly dead during self cean no power door remains locked

Check the breaker for your kitchen even if it isn't flipped, flip it off and on again.. I had the same problem it turned out that my dryer and stove were on the same breaker, so I couldn't run them both at the same time.

We have a Kitchen Aid Electric stove about 10 years old and there was no owners manual left from the last owner. This week we turned on the oven and there is no heat from the elements on both the bake and...

The first thing I would check is the breaker for the oven at the breaker box. I have encountered similar problems and a partially thrown breaker ( or one pole of a double-pole breaker) can cause this. Find your "range breaker" in your breaker box and cut it off then flip it back on. There is a good chance that might fix your breaker. If it is an older house with fuses, then the range would be on two fuses and one of them is blown. This happens to dryers also (if the right fuse/breaker goes, the motor runs but it won't heat)
Hope this helps

We have just bought a new house and the stove is about 20-25 years old A moffat the timer will not disengage to enable for us to use the stove. We have turned all the knobs and popped them out even left...

Lets try to reset the controls by turning all pwer to the range off.

Have you tried unplugging the range and then plugging it back in? If it is electric remember it is 220 volt so please use caution.

If this does not work, check your breaker box. The range should be on a breaker by itself. When you locate it, Flip it off for a few minutes and then flip it back on. Again always use caution when doing anything with electrical service. Be sure that you are standing in a dry place, etc.

If a reset of the power does not turn the timer off, please get back to me with the exact details of name/model number and type of range (gas or electric)

I don't know where you live so I don't know the regulations in your area. Was the home inspected before you purchased it? The inspector should have inspected the appliances to make sure they were working properly. If this appliance cannot be easily fixed. I would call the realtor who sold you the house and complain.

We were pre heating the oven and we noticed it was off when we checked on it the breaker keeps tripping as soon as you try to turn it back on my wife said she saw a bright spark from behind the stove when...

First I would turn the breaker off. If you can pull the stove out and find where the cord connects to the oven. Check the connections. If a breaker is tripping as you try to reset it, that means there is a direct short from hot to neutral line. If the connections are good and not burnt... you want to check to see that the elements are in good condition and not melted. Check where the wires connect to the elements. Many times this is where a short occurs. The spark your wife saw should show signs somewhere. Look for a scorch mark.
