Phillips Flat TV Model 20pf4121\105 (Flashing green led)

Turn on TV, all I get is constant flashing of green led.
No sound or picture.
can also here clicking from within the set.

I had exactly the same problem When the TV was switched on all I could see was a flashing green light. After cheching the TV internals and not seeing a problem including the power supply unit which looked and checked normal. Here is what I did to get M TV working again.
Disconnect it from the power supply. Hold down all the buttons simultaneously i.e. the on/off, the volume, the programme, menu buttons, all of them simultaneously and Plug it into the power supply again.
Lo and behold My TV jumped back into life after an absence of about 4 weeks.
Try it yourself exactly as above.

Electrolitic capacitors 1000mf /10 v in pover unit

    With the problem explained above you will normally visibly see that there is something wrong with this capacitor. It becomes so leaky that its top from flat take a domed shape

Please describe the problem more accurately. Flashing red usually means 'stand-by' state, flashing blue/green - starting up. When (during that) do you have a sound? Are there any 'high voltage' sounds like soft screeching from the screen? Is it LCD or LED?

replace the lamp on your TV, but only replace it with PHILLIPS brand. Anything other than that, will not last. We just replaced ours with Phillips and the picture is much brighter. It really shows the HD quality of the tv.

If the TV is a few years old the flashing green light means the bulb need to be replaced. That's why the TV will not show a picture. Check your owners manual on how to replace.

42C128135UA-52 Phillips Flat Screen TV. I switched it on and all i got was a clicking sound and flashing green LED light which continues 1 long flash 2 short flashes. No picture whatsoever.
On the lower right side of the psu, (clamped to a heatsink), i changed the 8.5v (L4940P85) voltage regulator and it worked. As a test to single out the fault i warmed this component with a fine blue flame, this would make also make the tv work perfectly.
