"Set unavailable" error received when I tried to Set Copy on Norstar M7310 phone

I tried the Set Copy feature on a Norstar 7310 phone and when I entered the extension # I wanted to copy to, it said "Set Unavailable". I am trying to copy to a new phone that is not programmed correctly and not receiving calls.

Are you sure you have the correct extension number for the destination? I may be more than "not progammed correctly" - perhaps it isn't the ext# you think it is. Try Feature*0 then all the keys, especially the line keys, which should give you the extension number.

I have a 1987 Meridian phone and the model number is m7310. We are trying to set up a manager on the call buttons. We want to be able to push their name and be able to reach them.

From the idle 7310, press FEAT *2 the button and dial their extension.

If you get a nasty notification, like Denied in Admin, or Set Locked, you'll need the system administrator password and procedure to unlock the phone..

Every button including feature Meridian 7310 calls to an internal

Sounds like a stuck button.

Do what I call the rake... swipe at the keypad over and over, look to see if there is any button lower or depressed on the keypad or buttons.

Someone may have spilled something on it (cola, coffee), and the set may require to be taken apart if there is a stuck button.

M7310 phone buttons

Wow, you should get 2 lines and at least one intercom by default. Lines are assigned in most Nortel systems in Terminals & Sets. Your COPY command is your friend. Just pick a phone you wnat to emulate and copy it to your new set.
