My Hunter Programmable Thermostate #44110. I set it for regular clock time. But in the middle of the day and night it goes to military time. When I hadn't added military time. Is it time to buy a new one. I've had it for 8 years.

SOURCE: hunter 44360 thermostat wiring

I bought the hunter 44360 programmable thermostat also, and have the same problem with the heat not shutting off. I recently took off the face plate and started looking at the switchess on the back. Look for a switch that has the option "std" or "hp". I flipped the switch to the "std" position and my therrmostat has been working great in heating my home.

hope this helps,

SOURCE: thermostat takes too long to cool down 1 degree

Thermostats don't cool or heat. They are just the control device that tells the furnance or AC to operate and register the present temperature and tell the furnance or A/C to shut off, once the desired temperature has been reached.

Most programmable thermostats will take at least 1-2 weeks to "learn" how long to run the furnance or A/C in order to reach the desired temperatures you've programmed into it, for the time you want it be that temperature. Variables such as extremely hot days and higher humidity will also affect your cooling system.

Give it a little time to self-learn and it should adjust itself after a week or two of operation. You might want to take some time to review and familiarize yourself with the owners manual to see what Hunter advises for setting up and using the thermostat.

You may need to have your A/C checked to see if you're running low on freon, or need to have the coils cleaned, need to change the air filter, etc.

Hope this helps and best regards!

Hunter 44665

You can get the manual at: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/257219/Hunter-44665.html

Normally these thermostats read remote temperatures but do not use them for control. The external remote sensor is normally put outside in our area yeilding an inside out side thermometer.

Programmable thermostat

Basically, your going to press either of the arrows until it flashes, or about 1 second.

Then you set the temperature you desire and then press and hold the HOLD button until HOLD is displayed in the display.

Congrats, your on a permanent hold.

Then your next step would be to go get a real thermostat, install it on the wall, and then throw that piece of **** Hunter out the window as hard as you can.

The biggest problem with the Hunter stats is that they are cheap. On top of that, the programmable stats have a factory set program that cannot be simply deleted. Its always there, no matter what you do. And it makes for hassles when it goes back to factory settings and you either have to painstakingly re-program it or deal with the factory settings.

Here is a link to the Hunter manual.

I would recommend to you the Honeywell line-up. The Visionpro 8000 series is a very nice and user friendly thermostat. Its the same one I have on my wall. Very easy to use and understand. Its touchscreen and the screen can be locked to avoid unwanted use of the system.

Programmable Thermostat Model 43157

On my Hunter model, there is a "Span" setting that allows you to change how long the AC/Heat will run before it turns off. Basically, it sets the acceptable range (above and below) your temperature setting. To access this press both the up and down arrows and hold them. "Span" should show up with a number (1,2, or 3). For your problem, change the setting to 1 so the AC will run shorter, and more frequently to keep the temperature more constant.
