Unless a dealer or other user set a code, this manual should tell you what you need.

Reset lamp timer lg projector model BX-401C

Try this, it works on older LG TV models:

Put the projector on. While holding down the Menu key on the projector, press and hold down the Menu button on the remote. Keep both buttons pressed for a count of at least 5 seconds.

When the Service Menu pops up, release the Menu button on the remote control first and then the one on the projector after.

Now you're in to the service menu, you need to find out which button on the remote brings up the Lamp Timer Reset function. This is where you're going to have to do a bit of trial and error. With the TVs, the remote button was the Mute key. There isn't a Mute key on the projector remote, so try the Lamp key first. If that doesn't work then try some other buttons. Here's the method.

While holding down the Enter/OK on the projector, press and hold the Lamp key for five second. If this works then the lamp timer reset box should appear. Release the remote button first, followed by the unit button.

Press Enter/OK on the remote to reset the lamp timer. If there's an On Screen Prompt to confirm, press Enter again.

Press Exit on the remote to come out of the menus.

Warning: Don't reset or change any other functions. The service menu isn't the place to be tinkering around with stuff you don't understand.

Hello, i would like to know if resetting the lamp timer on an LG MW60sz12 will allow you to get more time out of it?? also if it is possible, how do you reset it???

Hi there,

Quick answer = NO.

As projection TV lamps generally have a life somewhere between 3,000 - 6,000hrs (depending on lamp quality/type), the lamp timer is simply there to assist you in determining when the current lamp is due for replacement.

Resetting the lamp timer has no effect what so ever, on the longevity of the lamp.

The Lamp Timer Reset function is hidden within the Service menu and as such, technicians are usually the only ones who are authorised to reset the timer.

However, the following procedure has been known to reset LG lamp timers:

1. With the TV on, press and hold the MENU button on the TV front panel.
2. While holding that button, press and hold the MENU button on your remote.
3. Hold both buttons for ~5 seconds until the service menu comes up on the TV.
4. Release the remote MENU button first, then the TV MENU button.
5. While holding that button, press and hold the MUTE button on the remote.
6. Press and hold the ENTER (or OK) button on the TV front panel.
7. Hold both buttons until the Lamp Life Hours show up on your TV screen.
8. Release the MUTE button first, then the ENTER button on the TV front panel.
9. Make a note of the lamp hours if you want.
10. To reset the lamp hours, press the SELECT button (the one between the four arrow keys with two concentric circles on it) on your remote.
11. It will ask you to confirm the reset--press SELECT again to confirm

Service menu passcode for runco vx-1000d

Hello,

I understand you have a VX-1000d.

You only want to reset if the projector doesn't turn on because it is a safety feature so the lamp does not explode. They get really hot and need to be replaced when due. You can buy one from the supplier or online.
There is a reset button on the inside of the
RGB connection bay(look deep) for a reset button, hold it down until the lamp light turns blue.
If flipped over on it's back, you would see it straight down beyond the connectors. Of course this will reset to factory settings.

Do you have the processor?
