Sounds like it's overheating and tripping the breaker. When it shuts down try pressing the little red breaker button. Could be a restriction of the rotating brush or a short in the extension connector. Remove the bottom plate and visually check for a cord or string wound up in the rotating brush mechanism and check the extension tube and flex tube for obstructions... Try the head without the wand by just connecting it directly to the flex tube and see if this makes it work without shutting off. I'm betting on something binding the roller brush and causing it to overheat...
