Sensor must show steady light to close circuit and let opener work. If aligned, then there is a loose or broken wire. Try reaiming first to get steady light. Then check all wires . Another way to test and prove that is the issue is if u hold down the wired button at ur back door and the opener closes, then it is sensor issue. Good luck.

I have a GDO-7 v1 door opener and it is not working. When I press the button to open the door, it beeps twice but doesn't open the door. The yellow led (door status led) is flashing constantly

If you have a GDO-7 v1 door opener and it is not working as expected, there could be several possible reasons for the issue you're experiencing. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow to diagnose and potentially fix the problem:
  1. Check the power supply: Ensure that the door opener is receiving power. Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working power outlet. If the power supply is interrupted, the door opener may not function properly.
  2. Inspect the remote control: Check the batteries in your remote control. Weak or depleted batteries can cause communication issues between the remote and the door opener. Replace the batteries with fresh ones and try operating the door opener again.
  3. Verify the safety sensors: The flashing yellow LED (door status LED) indicates an issue with the safety sensors. These sensors are usually located near the bottom of the garage door tracks. Ensure that they are properly aligned and free from any obstructions such as dirt or debris. Clean the sensors and make sure the alignment indicator lights are solid and not blinking. Misaligned or obstructed safety sensors can prevent the door from closing or opening.
  4. Test the wall control panel: Press the button on the wall control panel to open the door. If the door opens successfully using the wall control panel, it could indicate a problem with the remote control. Try reprogramming or resetting the remote control according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  5. Check for any obstructions: Inspect the garage door and its tracks for any obstructions that may be preventing it from opening or closing properly. Remove any debris or objects that could be blocking the door's movement.
  6. Consult the user manual or contact customer support: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, refer to the user manual for additional troubleshooting steps specific to your GDO-7 v1 model. If you're still unable to resolve the problem, it's recommended to contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance.
Remember to prioritize your safety during troubleshooting. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with any step, it's best to consult a professional garage door technician for assistance.

Craftsman 1/2hp garage door opener works fine to open door but to close I have to hold button down. If not, door won't move and lights flash 10 times.

10 flashes mean sensors are obstructed... something is in the way of the door or they are not facing each other. Clear the obstruction or realign the door and it will work.

Light flashes on gargage door and it will not close, but it opens

Maybe it's the safety device that prevents the door closing if there is an obstruction. Many of these have a reflector mounted near the floor on one side and an infrared light on the other side. If either end it obstructed, the door won't close.

After a brief power outage my Marantec 4700 garage door opener has problems opening/closing. When opening it stops at the fully open position and the lights blink, when closing it automatically reverses...

This is not a sensor issue, I have a similar problem, sensors work fine, garage door is still fully functional, all operations, including safety sensors work properly, just the overhead lights flash. I suspect there was damage to the power board due to a power surge, going to order a replacement to see if it works, will let you know how it goes.

I have a liftmaster Model 1240. Door will open by remote or wall opener. The door will only close while holding wall opener button down. If i try and close via remote, light starts blinking and door...

The only thing that will cause the main light to flash 10 times and the door to reverse to the open position is a sensor problem. Make sure the light on each sensor is on and not flickering ever so slightly. Make sure they are not moving when the door starts to close. Lights on sensors should not blink. One light should stay on constantly and the other sensors light should go off when you block the sensors.

Anytime the main light flashes 10 times and the door reverses to the open position it is a door sensor problem. If the transmitting sensor light is blinking it is bad.

Chamberlain Liftmaster Pro. Garage door Problems closing

The sensor eye - or more likely, the other end, the sensor light - probably got knocked out of alignment. The eye should have an LED on it - possibly one that glows green when it's ready to close or red when it's obstructed or out of alignment. Try adjusting the light until the LED on the receiver glows green.
