We bought my son an Element 26'' TV for this past Christmas (2008). Was working fine. Then a couple weeks ago it stopped working. The power light will show blue when turned on. Then the ''Element Electronics logo'' will appear. Then a Blue screen with ''component 2'' in a box shows. Then it goes black. There is also a humming coming from the tv. I have unplugged everything from the tv, and unplugged the tv itself from the outlet. Then replugged it in and turned it on and I get the same response. Solutions???
My Element ELCHS261 will not turn on at all. The only thing it does is the red light will turn to blue but no sound and no picture. My troubleshooting items have been changed the batteries in the remote then I unpluged the power for for 30 minutes and still nothing.
I just fixed my element tv this weekend. Here's what i did. I opened up the tv and unhooked all connections to power supply. I made sure all of the voltages required were present. Then i plugged each connection in one by one" one at a time" and rechecked the voltages required. If the voltages were all present then move on to the next one. You will find that one of the boards will sink a lot of voltage and you will find your defective board. The problem i had was like the one above. The tv indicator light would be red when plugged in. It would turn blue if i turned it on. The screen would say element and a blue screen would appear for less than two seconds. Then the screen would disappear and the indicator light would remain blue. The defect was with the invertor board. It was very simple to fix.
You need to replace the main board
see your tv has two boards on the back once you open it one its the power supply the other one its the main the one with the hdmi and tv , component plugs was told to me by tv repair man only he charges too much for something i can do oh and element told me too the guy took care of me told me go to www.shopjimmy.com they have cheaper prices than them for the same product and cheaper than a tv technician

Change the input. There should be an "input" or "source" button on the remote and/or tv for choosing the source for signal display. Change it to one of the other options (try all of them).
Are you using a cable or satellite receiver box with the tv?
The issue as you are describing it sounds like he tv isn't getting a signal from it's source. In order to test this, try hooking a dvd player, vcr, game console, or whatever to a specific input on the tv and put the tv setting to that input. Then see if the tv acknowledges it and shows the video from it. Ideally, you will do this on each input just to make sure they are all working correctly. Let me know how you make out with it or if you need help understanding what I'm suggesting. :^ )
