SOURCE: TH-37PE30 - DVD picture now lousy (herringbone?)

Do you have an S Video cable connection on the DVD player? I'd try that If you have one or component (red green blue) cable or even the composite (yellow) connection. The SCART connection on the input PCB of the tv could be damaged. The cost of this board may be pricey so if you can use the other type of connections with the DVD player I'd recommend that or get a DVD player that has one of those. Your model does not have HDMI so those are your only other options. Hope this helped

SOURCE: I want to connect a Virgin HD box to my Panasonic

what you need to do is obtain an HDMI cable for your Virgin HD box. Leave the rest on scart (you can probably even add a another box now that you've freed up one port). Basically just press the button on your TV remote, saying 'Source' and you can flick through all your scart soxkets and HDMI ports. Simples.

SOURCE: I cannot record from a Daewoo DVD recorder (

If you want to record from the TV to the DVD recorder you have to first select a channel on the TV that you want to record and then take an AV cable ( Yellow / Red / White ) and connect from the Monitor out socket of the TV to the AV in of the Daewoo DVD recorder. Drop a blank DVD select AV on the Recorder and press the record button.

My Element TV is hooked up to the Dish Network. I have a dvd hooked up to the TV also. What do I have to do to watch the dvd on the tv

Hi,

To watch a DVD your player needs to be connected to the TV using a scart or RCA connectors (red, yellow and white) depending on the type of connections available to you. The easiest way to connect the DVD player to a television is via Audio/Video connections that are usually supplied with it.
Next plug in your DVD player and power it up.

Next use your remote to select AV 1, 2 or 3 or HDMI - depending on the input you used at the back of your TV. Insert DVD and play! For example, if the DVD player is connected to the SCART socket labeled Av1, then you need to select Av1 with the remote.

The use of your DVD player is not dependant on the dish receiver - it works on a serarate input direct to the TV. Connecting your DVD player in this manner direct to your TV will not affect your cable or antenna connection to your television.

I have a JVC RM-C60 TV. I'm trying to tune it in to my Virgin Media HD box using a standard SCART lead but having no joy. It's completely failing to find the cable channel (or any other for that matter)....

Tuning of the TV not required when using scart lead, just select external input that the scartis connected to, ie AV1,AV2 (EXT1,EXT2) etc. The problem is possibly to do with the Virgin box, it may be set to HDMI out in which case it will not output anything via the scart lead, you would need to connect via an HDMI lead (small socket on the rear of the unit looks a little like a USB socket). Problem is if your TV is a CRT television its unlikely to have this socket. Your Virgin box can be reset to output via the scart but you would need to contact Virgin for this process.

Trouble trying to connect my dvd player and set it up to my new 42 " L cd lost instructions!

Hi there,
You will need to determine if your DVD player is HDMI or Scart. If you connect it via a scart lead, then it should automatically turn on when you power it up, if not it will be located on your tv under the appropriate source/input label, ie AV1/AV2, or SCART.
If you are using a HDMI lead, then you will have to turn it over yourself, as HDMI does not support switching control. To do this, locate the input button on your remote (sometimes labled source) and press it until you can select the correct HDMI input using either the directional buttons, or by repeatedly pressing the input button.
Hope this helps

Cable hook-ups for TV, Satellite Box, DVD, VCR

Use SCART lead from Sat. box to VCR input( so you can record progs.) then another SCART lead from VCR output to TV set AV1 input. Connect DVD (player only I presume) direct to AV2 input of TV set using another SCART lead.
Hope all this works O.K.
Note:- If DVD is also a recorder then you don't need VCR as a recording device and leads will need to be altered accordingly, of course!!
