Has the dispenser door open at end of cycle. If dispenser door is open but not fallen down to the tub means most likely the water arm pressure is not good enough to get flush down to the tub.
Door not open means dispenser failure or control board not giving power to dispenser at right time. In some cases dispenser door is stuck with harden earlier soap so it cannot open completely in the cycle.
Why not when opening the door at end of cycle, listen to dispenser area to see the flapper opening while you are opening the door. That means dispenser not opening properly in the cycle.
This issue is a hard solve sometimes. Don't wont to spend the money, then just use the tablets and through them in the tub in the beginning and say good bye to dispenser.

Hi, well you we need to check the ribbon cable in the door lining to make sure that none of the cables have been broken with the movement of the door. If they are fine then you should replace the dispenser unit if you are getting 240v to the dispenser solinoid.

is it liquid or powder? we had this problem with cascade powder.... tried liquid cascade and the same thing happened even though i'd been using cascade for YEARS.... manual said could be detergent was "old" and beyond its shelf-life, or that we used too much or too little (go figure that one out LOL).... not trying to promote a brand here, but we switched to palmolive ECO gel and haven't had a problem since -- no goop left in dispenser!.... hope that helps... -cynthia :)

Sometimes if the tablet is not put in correctly it makes the door catch jam as the tablet is pushing against the door and not leting the catch move to open. try putting the tablet in then close the door then just flick the catch to open the door to see if it opens easy. if this dose not cure it then the door catch has moved or got loose behind the door cover. with the electricty off and plug removed you migh try taking the screws that hold the main door front on and then checking the plastic arms are all inline and move easy. the door catch works on a selonoid that throws open the catch, its unlikly that this has gone open curcuit but if this is not opperating i think you need to call an engineer.
