Fault in the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size. Whichever the brand of it may be.

I have a 1080p jvc projection tv and I broke the bulb door safety switch. Can I bypass it so my tv will power on?

Hi Kyle, It isn't really recommended to bypass any of the safety switches in the TV.
Maybe there is some other switch you can buy and install on the TV.
What is the model number on the TV?

Tv won't switch to "tv"

Your T.V. is programmed to store the last input you've selected. You have to manually switch it back to your T.V. channel input after each time you switch it to HDMI or any other input even when you turn it off. The "Source" or "Input" button on your original T.V. remote will change this.

TV turns on and off without pressing any button

This could be a simple issue with the dome switches on the tv. Many times they will become faulty and can cause strange things like this, one common cause of the switches going bad is incorrectly cleaning a tv by spraying cleaner directly onto the screen and allowing the solution to drip down the screen, capillary action will take a few drops of the solution an deposit it on the switch board behind the switches, causing the tv to malfunction. Even though the power is turning on and off does not mean that the power switch is the one causing this. Without getting technical the design of the switch array can make any faulty button work another function. For example a faulty volume up switch can turn the tv on or off. All of the switches need replaced.
