That code is a Windows boot error. I'm not sure what you can do with the Dell OS media stick but the traditional solution with a regular hard disk is to take a Windows 7 OS disk, boot with it, and run startup repair. Here's a link to Startup Repair: Startup Repair Microsoft Windows

Dell os recovery tool shows up incorrect os

redux 3.:
all i typed before is wasted. (off topic)
first off you need to ask dll this, fix yah can not fix dell bad code ever.
The PC runs perfect, is the topic.
sub topic : Dell recovery software is buggy
or you PC is not really new.

1: new PC 4 months old sold by whom,. ebay amazone or one of 1000s of refurb places (even walmart has them)

2: is the dell warranty expired, ????
3: what are the dates in the bios INFO page. all!
4: if the PC is not really new, but refurb the licensein the machine can be wrong, (non dell OEM license)
or was licensed as w7 /8 before. you go it.
5; why not ask dell this, fixya is not dell.com
not by a mile.

here is 1 example of a refurb.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Dell-Optiplex-7050-Intel-Core-i5-6500T-X4-2-5GHz-8GB-128GB-SSD-Win10-Black-Certified-Refurbished/684011469

i can buy those add the missing parts for 50 or less
and sell them for 5 times more. called a refurb.
so knowing this fact one can get anything sold as new but not new.

here is where to ask.

only dell can fix dell software,
it is not open source. at all.

How to format my Dell computer

Your drive may be toast. You need to find the right F key (typically F2 or F8 or F12) to open the BIOS menu. Start pounding on one while booting until you find it. You may have to try all 12 F keys. Once you get the BIOS menu (not the boot menu), there should be a device section. Make sure your C: drive is visible to the BIOS. If not, the drive is usually bad and needs replaced. You will need a drive preloaded with WIndows, or you will also need the Dell recovery CD set. However, if the C: drive looks OK, next find the right F key to open the boot menu. There should be options there to boot Windows, Safe Mode, Restore to a previous check point, or recover to factory settings. If this does not work, you will need to get the Recovery CD set from Dell for your model. Be warned this usually destroys all old data files.

I cant remember my password to get into my dell inspiron n5050 home premium with windows 7

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

Windows 8 error code 0xc000000e

Hi I have this error code 0xc000000e windows 8, You get three options,
1. Enter to retry
2. Press F8 for start up settings
3. press F9 for to use a different operation system.
First two options do nothing, F9 will restart computer, and the I can boot from the boot disk. I have tried to rebuild the startup files, from the disk nothing is working. I can't get into the Safe mode. Guess only option is save all files to a back up HDD, I even tried to restore to a past date.

0xc000000e

1. First Load Windows Recovery environment from Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2
2. Open Diskpart and make problematic partition Active
3. Open bcdedit and you should get something like this:

Windows Boot Loader
-------------------
identifier {default}
device unknown <===0xc000000e problem!
path \Windows\system32\winload.exe
description Windows Server 2008 R2
locale en-US
inherit {bootloadersettings}
recoverysequence {e0025536-b36d-11de-aadd-ddc0b5870e2c}
recoveryenabled Yes
osdevice unknown <===0xc000000e problem!
systemroot \Windows
resumeobject {e0025534-b36d-11de-aadd-ddc0b5870e2c}
nx OptOut
hypervisorlaunchtype Auto

4. Enter these commands:

bcdedit /set {Your-OS-Identifier} device partition=X:
bcdedit /set {Your-OS-Identifier} osdevice partition=X:
bcdedit

Where X: - drive letter with your problematic OS in Windows RE. You can find it by opening notepad and pressing save

5. Reboot

if you don't have a copy of the dvd you can try and boot to a recovery partition by tapping f8 @ boot and you should be able to go to 'repair my computer' and hit enter. you can also download the recovery console from the internet and burn it to a cd and run it. good luck

My dell inspiron 1525 has a black screen with a white cursor showing

First, I want to know if you sees the Dell logo after turning on the laptop? If yes then this is no boot issue.
1. Immediately run the PSA. Make sure laptop is off. Press and hold down the Fn key, while holding down Fn key press the power button at the same time just once. Once the Dell screen loaded you can now let go of the Fn key. Check if the PSA will run short test for the LCD, RAM and HDD. When full color displays on the screen just press Y. PSA will continue. Just take note of any error code will appear on the screen such as 0141, 0142 and 0146 these are HDD failure errors which means HDD needs replacement. If the test says no errors found then proceed to step 2;
2. Try restarting the laptop once you see dell logo then keep tapping F8. Select last known good configuration. Press enter key. Just wait and check if laptop will load Windows. If not then, restart laptop keep tapping F8 try to select safe mode check if it will load Windows. If not then prepare the Windows OS disc the one came with your laptop.
3. While laptop is on insert the Windows OS disc. Restart the computer. On the Dell screen keep tapping on F12 to show boot menu. In the boot menu select CD/DVD ROM Drive. Press enter then keep tapping on space bar until it will say Windows loading files, please wait.
4. In the User Interface it will show you some options to select. Once the Install screen comes up look on the lower part select Repair Your Computer. If will ask you to do Startup Repair, please do start up repair. If fails try the System Restore. If fails then step 5;
5. If you have important files in your HDD then back up your files first. After backing up of files you can now install the Windows OS. Here is the process in installing the Windows OS. Insert the Windows OS disc, restart the laptop, keep tapping F12 on Dell screen, on boot menu select CD/DVD ROM Drive.Install the Windows OS. Just complete the installation.After the installation install the laptop drivers.

Dell Inspiron 8500 started boot error message ?primary hard disk drive 0 failure, no boot device available?strike F1 to retry reboot, F2 for setup. Ran express diagnostics and it shows two errors: Error...

Call Dell if under warranty. Start shopping for a replacement hdd if outside of warranty. You'll need
your OS disks that came with computer (hopefully). If you don't have OS/recovery disks, you can get
them from Dell or even using somebody elses (match version with sticker on your laptop).

Check the hdd connection underneath laptop - make sure cable is not loose, etc.

Probably safe to say your data is gone unless you're willing to spend $$.
