But there are some external usb sound cards you can fin ranging from 5$(dont recomend) to some better brands like creative sound blaster 30-90 and up

try windows 8 only drivers, they would work for time being till lenovo comes out with specific win 8.1 drivers, for which u have to wait. u dont have any other option

if you dvd writer is not working and you cant install your camera driver from cd then its probably something wrong with the slot where you insert cds. Try seeing if there is an online version of the camera version and if that dont work, then you should have the store that sold it to you, to look at it.

The 1650x1050 screen behaves differently to the nvidia graphic card than a 1280 screen
and the load or voltage (could be the timing of signal also) is differnt. the lenovo old, old, old driver
that lenovo never appear to want to upgrade.
It feeds the screen on what must be the limit of what the screen can deal with.
and sometimes it works other times.....it wont.

solution (for me)
nvidia drivers refuse to install on the computer because lenovo and nvidia has blocked it.
www.laptopvideo2go.com has a fix on how to disable this so that the latest nvidia drivers can be installed.

after installing the nvidia forceware driver ver 185.20 driver
the problems are gone!

disclaimer!!!!
By doing this you are losing some integration to the lenovo suite of software and potentialy some other
integration with the hardware (have not after 1 hour been able to figure out what is gone but....something is likley missing)
TV out still works, actually some what better than with the lenovo.
the graphic might be a tad faster in games (more FPS, but dont count on it)

but I dont care! because the screen now works!!!!!!

I know this is a stupid question but are you holding the buttons down at the same time. If so, I would contact Lenovo and make them figure it out, since it is new.
