Hoveround won't move.

My Hoveround stopped moving. The batteries are less than a year old. I am getting lights showing full charge, but when I move joystick, the lights start flashing and the chair won't move. 9 of the 10 led's flash. It says to check break release, but that isn't the issue since those never get moved. @ things; I had gravel stuck under/in left wheel, grinding away for a few weeks. when walking dog, going up hill, chair wanted to pull to right. Eventually one day chair stopped moving.

i'm assuming the problem lies between the joystick and motors, i.e. juncton box or motors.

Double check to be sure drive levers are fully engaged. Go down and up a few times. If problem persists have Hoveround come and check it out. One of the drive motors may have shorted out when you continued driving with gravel in the wheel.

I have Hoveround Mpv5 and it is a used one I received as a gift. I put in new batteries last year. Now I can charge it but it won't turn on. What to do?

Check Power and Connections:

Ensure the power is turned on.
Confirm that the charger and power cord are not plugged into the unit.
Make sure the brake release levers are in drive mode.
Joystick Controller:
Verify that the joystick cable is securely attached.
Check if the batteries are fully charged. If not, proceed with charging.

Battery Charger:
Plug the charger into a working outlet and test it with a lamp or LED clock.
Use a charger specifically designed for your Hoveround MPV5.
If the problem persists, consider replacing the battery charger.

Battery Issues:
Ensure the brake release levers are in drive mode.
Check all battery connectors to ensure they are properly connected.
Verify that the batteries are fully charged. If not, proceed with charging.
If the batteries still won't charge properly, replacement batteries may be needed.

Consult your Owner's Manual for illustrations and additional instructions. If these steps don't resolve the issue, I recommend contacting Hoveround Technical Support at 1-800-96-HOVER (1-800-964-6837) for professional assistance

Hoveround Electric Wheelchair - Motorized Power Chair and Mobility Scooter will only go in circles. What do you think could be the problem?

Question edited for clarity, Hoveround not Hooveround. Added '(what it is)'. All question need full 'make model (what it is)' please.
Question moved from 'Rode Microphones'.

Bad connection on your motor. Bad connection on one of your batteries. Or a motor, or the controller / board has failed. all can be tested.

Chair shows full charge, or most of a charge (depending on how long it sets between looking at it), and has limited mobility for a while, after sitting turned off for several hours.

Hi if the batteries r 5 years old it would be a good idea to replace them ...u can't rely on you're charging circuit giving u a true reading on the condition of you're batteries they have to b tested with a BATTERY LOAD TESTER they put a 100 amp load on them this will give u a true reading on the condition of you're batteries ..cheers

Low hour, RASCAL 600 has been in clean safe storage with new batteries won't charge, no amp meter reading, no fuel gauge reading, yet charger itself has red and green light showing. If and when the...

The green light on your charger indicates a full charge but you know thats not right since you didn't charge the batteries when they were in storage they have dropped so low the charger cannot detect them and provide a charge. The batteries will need to be replaced with new ones. Charge before use and charge for at least 20 days to get them operating at 100% now you will have to use it for those 20 days to get the batteries used to charging charge every night when you go to bed and unplug when you get up in the morning. If you do have to leave the chair for a week or so put up fully charged and charge once a week overnight. If you put the chair in storage again disconnect the batteries from the chair and store with a full charge. Hope this helps you

Nothing against hove-round ,but to me it sounds like the problem may be do to a bad cell in one the the two battery's .This will cause an uneven charge which will be a result of the problem that you are having now. Also make sure the two battery's are new, they should have markers on them that say the month and year. Also make sure that your charger is working .when you plug that chair in ,turn it on see if it will move and see if the light are flashing.that will let you know if its reading that its being charged.

when you find the bad battery and replace it and its saying its fully charged and it does this to you again. The last thing it could be .is your motors are going bad the breaks are over loading the power.

Good luck hope i was of some help.

I need an owners manual. I have had the hoveround charging for approximately 36 hours, it seems to turn on but does not move.

PK 36 hours charging is too long you will damage the chair and the batteries. You shouldn't have to charge more than 12 hours and never more than 24. If the batteries are weak the chair might power up but you don't have the power to energize the motors. If you have a digital voltmeter set it to 200 volts dc and plug the leads into the two outter holes of the charger port located on the joystick. You should be reading 25-27 volts with the batteries fully charged. Anything less than 20 volts will not be enough to power the chair. Hope this helps you

Hoveround wont move

Make sure the batteries are fully charged, all the connections are secure, the fuses are intact, there are no flashing lights and that the two black manual brake release knobs are in the upright position (located just above the footrest.).

Battery not charging...

My impression is that you might have a defective cord if you still have your old adapter and has the same power specification try this first.

If the battery is hot and does not charge you might have a defective battery . Better have it checked at the service center before buying a brand new battery
