So Ive have been looking into this problem, it is a very common issue with the board, if you have had the tv less than a year I would contact samsung and see if they will fix it for free unless you bought an extended warrenty, it seems the main fix is having the board replaced.
If you are using a cable box with hdmi I suggest changing ports if not I am sorry but it doesnt seem to be a software issue with the tv rather a hardware.

How do I hook up DVD player

Liz,, most DVD players come with RED, Yellow, White cables. on back of ur DVD player find the holes with the matching colors. and insert cables, now go to ur TV , on the back you should see some of the same colors plugins ,.once u have done that . put in a DVD and hit play. now go to the input/source button on ur TV or remote and push it . u might see a drop down menu if u do highlight the AV or Video 1 or 2 or 3 till u get a picture. when finished u will have to hit the input button and go Back to where u were in order to watch what u had it on before. NOW if u have a Blu Ray DVD player all u need is the HDMI cable , find the HDMI output onback of player and on the TV find the same. your tv might have 3 or so HDMI inputs ,, any will work. as before put in a movie, use ur remote , input button and find the HDMI on the menu and high light it. .

How do i connect Orion DVD Player to LG Television with out a remote control.

The best option would be the HDMI-to-HDMI connection between your player and your TV. But because you mentioned that your TV is an old model, probably it does not have an HDMI port, in which case you have to use the RCA A/V connection. I understand you do not have a remote control for your TV, but you do not program a TV channel to watch DVD movies; you just switch between your TV and the DVD player as your audio/video sources. Here is what you have to do: check on your TV box for a button labeled 'Source' or 'Input'. Press on the button and it will alternate between TV and DVD (assuming you do not have any other device hooked up to your TV).

Hi,

I have few options for you to get the video back on HDMI:
1. Try out changing the video resolution on HDMI set up (select 480p..1080p).
2. Play NTSC disc (to get the 60Hz out from Player). If your are in US.
3. Select the TV system as AUTO/NTSC to get the 60Hz out only on HDMI.
4. if the Deep Color option is available in HDMI set up menu..set it to OFF.

Let me know if you tried all these and still no output.

Rainbow color effect appears when Samsung LCD plays Wii or DVD

Hello, I have a question which video inputs are you using for your DVD and Wii connections? The reason I ask is because this sounds like video distortion cuased by noise. If possible can you send a picture of the screen when it has this problem and send which video ports are being used? If it is noise in the video you may have a saw filter problem, or a decoupling issue. In any event I'll know more once you send those pictures and which inputs you are using for your DVD and Wii. You need a audio cable for sound. HDMI cable is only for picture. I use the comp 1 plugs myself, better picture. I found with my TV that the HDMI cable is only good if you have a digital box for it. You can also use the plug to hook your computer to off your graphics card and watch downloaded movies on.
