I'm having trouble finding the bulb for my kitchenAid double oven model KEBS209, the bulb itself looks like it says it's a 40w but the book for the oven says no more than 5w. I can't find a bulb that is a 5w/G9 Base/ 120-240v

The problem is almost certainly on the control panel, which we repair nationwide for $39.95 postpaid. This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller. This often can affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inopoerable or stuck on. If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, linked here on Fixya: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

Hi Mike.
Difficult to say on yours. You may try the following. On the back or side, if there is a little cover that's screwed into the panel. Otherwise browse around on the inside. Be sure to unplug the micro before checking. Once found be sure to replace with a microwave lamp and not a fridge lamp. There is a difference. Good Luck,JUS004

I'm guessing the model number would be KEMS308GSS0.
In some cases, this is a glitch that can be cured by unplugging it for 1 minutes, then resetting the clock.
In other case, it may be a bad keypad (membrane switch) or control board.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

This is a common item. Take the bulb to a home depot and they will match it for you or direct you to a local source.

Hello
& Welcome to FixYa
To
replace the light bulb first remove the screws located on the vent grill at the
top of the microwave, tilt the grill back and then pull away to remove. After
this open the light cover , you have to remove the screws so that you can
discard the old light bulb and then replace it with a new one. Please get back
to me if you have any other questions.
