SOURCE: Hotpoint RVM1425BA-003 Microwave Oven Stovetop Light Does Not Work

The problem is almost certainly on the control panel, which we repair nationwide for $39.95 postpaid.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This often can affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inopoerable or stuck on.

SOURCE: Light bulb replacement in a Tappan Microwave

Hi Mike.

Difficult to say on yours. You may try the following. On the back or side, if there is a little cover that's screwed into the panel. Otherwise browse around on the inside. Be sure to unplug the micro before checking. Once found be sure to replace with a microwave lamp and not a fridge lamp. There is a difference. Good Luck,JUS004

SOURCE: kitchenaid double convection microwave /

I'm guessing the model number would be KEMS308GSS0.

In some cases, this is a glitch that can be cured by unplugging it for 1 minutes, then resetting the clock.

In other case, it may be a bad keypad (membrane switch) or control board.

Ge jvm1790wk convection/microwave oven exterior light bulb burned out...I can't read volts and watts on the original bulb and don't find the information in the manual, what do I buy to replace it?

The cooktop light is 120V, 40W max., part number WB08X10051.

That's all covered on page 27 of your owner's manual here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven or part numbers here.

To replace the inside light, you'd need to remove the oven from the wall, and take off the outer cover.

You did not like the star screws, ah? Well, how about the so-called 'security'...

The folks at GE told me you need a technician to change this bulb. Phooey, I say. It was a piece of cake. Save $ 100 and follow my instructions. I did it. I would imagine most GE microwaves would be similar.

Here's how to do it. I bought this bulb (part # WB36X951) from PARTSTORE.COM for $ 18.58 total (that's bad enough). Got the bulb within a few days.

This model GE microwave, is a stainless model with stainless inside and grilling element.

The bulb is located directly behind the front control panel (on the right), but you need to remove the stainless cover to get to it. Naturally, unplug it first. You'll need one those star bits (not sure what size), a philips head won't work. There's four of those sneaky screws on the rear. Remove those screws and the cover slides off. VOILA! It's magic! The bulb, you'll see, is sealed to a base, but it has as double slide contact. Undo this before removing the bulb. It's snapped into a little fixture. Remove the old bulb and snap new one in. Replace the contact leads and that's it.

The cover is a little tricky to get back seated properly. Along with the sneaky star screws, this is another attempt to discourage consumer servicing. Make sure that the cover is flush with the back before replacing the screws. You're done.

I for one, am tired of this type of this type of rip-off and scamming. I hope this tips helps many and saves some of you from paying a ridiculous service fee.

If this tip has helped you, let know. E-mail me at [email protected].

Microwave light is burnt out

Accessing the internal light bulb on model KBMC140HSS bulb will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download Whirlpool / Kitchenaid owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

These models use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

Burnt bulb in kitchenaid microwave

You may have to remove a panel on the bottom or remove the grille across the top.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

I have a diagram at my site which helps you find & replace many GE cooktop and cavity light bulbs. Other models are similar. It's at http://207.234.249.73/mwd/ge_lamp_replacement.jpg

In some over-the-range models, that can mean having to take the oven down from the wall! For safety's sake, that should be a two-person job and it's really helpful if you have your original installation instructions to do this.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

Which bulb do I need for Samsung MW6573G microwave

You can see a photo of it here: http://www.samsungparts.com/images/parts/tv/4713-001012.jpg It's an assembly, and not meant to be separated. But if you have a clean socket, you can use a standard 40W appliance bulb that will fit it. Otherwise, you can get the original bulb assembly at that same site if you prefer. It's part # 4713-001012.
