Epson Perfection 2450 Photo scanner won't run on Win 7 Ultimate.

Can't get the scanner to run on Win 7 Ultimate. Smart Scan & VuScan say there is no scanner connected. I've changed ports, cables, un-installed & re-installed the programs. Almost never kaThunks when turned on, does kaThunk when turned off/disconnected so something is happening!

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately I have the correct drivers for the ver I'm using.which is 32 bit

See if the scanning software is compatible with Windows 7, many of them won't work with 7 especially if its a 7/64 installation. Has a similar problem with HP printer ended up installing ABBEY 9.0 program and now it works fine.

Is windows 7 32 bit version or 64 bit version . Suggest downloading drivers that match the windows 7 operating system and installing them.

Try drivermax.scan for driver. www.drivermax.com

How do I clean the underside of the glass on the 2450 epson perfection scanner?

Scanners are not meant to be user serviceable. This means that to clean the inside of the scanner, its better that it be brought to the manufacturer who can do this in a safe and correct manner. Believe me, it is worth doing this than ending up having a non-working scanner.

I have a new PC with Windows 7 , my scan is Epson perfection 1660 Photo. The new PC does not recognize the scanner, can you give me some advise??

Try going to the Epson website and search for your model number scanner and download and install the drivers.Check for the system requirements to make sure the drivers are compatible for win 7 though.Hope this works. Ken

No driver for epson perfection 2450 vista 64bit

From Epson FAQ:
Q: Does Epson have Microsoft Vista 64-bit drivers available for my scanner? A: Currently, we do not have Microsoft Vista 64-bit drivers available for your scanner. However, you may be able to use the VueScansoftware from Hamrick; it supports Microsoft Vista 64-bit. Please visit the Hamrick web site for more information.

Not tried it yet as I don't have 64 bit installed (my research is in preperation)...

Epson 2450 Perfection Photo Scanner Have only used this scanner for 4x5 trans film and have lost the 120 and 35mm holders. Can 35mm neg strips be scanned without film holder? Any problems with placing negs...

its a lot more accurate if you have the holders, you can run into problems. you can order the part from epson or
an epson service center like us.

Slide scanning with Epson Perfection 2450

I don't know if this is truly a "solution" or not, but I get the same thing on my HP 4850 scans. After scanning, I just crop the pictures to remove the black borders. Can you do that?
