The microwave says H:H 80, how do I reset it

H:H 80 on a Miele microwave indicates that the microwave's Keep Warm feature is in use. To end the cycle, open the microwave door or operate a selector or sensor (press a button (not the time display) or turn the selector knob). The keep warm setting runs the microwave for 15 minutes at 80W power starting 2 minutes after any program that used more the 450W of power. You can turn off the Keep Warm feature completely in the microwave settings. To change the setting, touch the menu button (arrow and three horizontal lines). Press OK and turn the selector knob until you see P9. Press OK and then turn the selector knob to change the setting. Press OK to save.

I found this in the manual for one of the Miele microwaves, http://static.appliancesconnection.com/attachments/D1418829486.pdf . on page 30. The section on changing the settings starts on page 40.

I hope this helps.

I have been given a A24003 Akai microwave oven & it's not warming foods up... how do I use it?

Here are some general instructions for akai microwaves http://www.akai.com.ro/Resurse/Produse/Manuale/AM820CRL_MANUAL.pdf and it looks like their microwaves will not function unless the clock is set first, so that would be a good start. However, If you have the power level set to High, and you can microwave a glass of water for 2 mins, yet it still comes out cold, then the microwave itself is faulty and not cost effective to repair. Let me know if you have any further queries on this, and good luck :-)

If you try to heat something for a minute , the microwave will turn on for about 15 seconds then shut off . It doesn't even seem to warm the food.

It may need a reset. You can do that by unplugging the power for a minute or two, then plugging it back in and setting the clock.

If it still fails, you may have a failing cooling fan or a problem on the control circuit board.

Light bulb not on and microwave not turning on. Was working fine in the am but went to warm something in the afternoon and the light wouldn't come on and didn't warm the coffee.

Hi,
Firstly check fuses in your microwave. You will have to take off the outer casing and check on the power circuit board to see if there are blown fuses.
Best wishes,

My microwave does not heat anything. The touchpad, exahustfan, light works. The motor turns on and turn-table works for the number of mins specified but does not warm up the stuff. Please help!

Sounds like the magnetron has failed. This is the component that produces the microwaves that heats the food.

The cost of the magnetron is about 95% of the cost of a microwave oven. Most people don't, for this reason, replace the magnetron, they replace the whole oven which is probably what you will end up doing.

There is a possibility that the circuit that provides power to the magnetron is faulty and you need to take it apart, find the proper electrical leads and test them with a volt meter. To do this you have to remove it from its mounting and take it apart. It is a fairly lengthy process however.

E Wave microwave stop heating

Sounds like the magnetron has failed. There are some high voltage circuits that feed the magnetron and you can potentially get hurt if you don't know what you are doing. Would recommend you have it serviced by a professional if you want it fixed, otherwise look for a new one since the cost of repair can come close to the price of a new microwave oven.

Microwave-doesn't warm anything anymore

Hello rarms1965... chances are that your microwave was the recipeint of a power surge during the power outage you mentioned.. there is no way of knowing what component took the brunt of a surge and it could very well be your magnetron tube, filament transformer of any number of control logic components.. The problem is that anytime you open the case to check things.. unless you know what to look for or even more so.. what NOT to touch ( High Voltage Capacitor comes to mind) you don't know what you are up against. If it isn't a real expesive model ( you didn't provide a brand or model with your inquiry).. then the cost to diagnose & repair could very well exceed teh cost to replace.. Your call.. but whatever you do.. be sure you KNOW what you are doing..
Good Luck my friend..

Microwave fan won't turn off

It could be the failure of either the hood fan thermostat or a problem on the control board.

If it turns out to be the control board, we repair those for $39.95 nationwide.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, linked here on Fixya: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
