In many washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out. To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the clothing through the port. Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator, top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job. If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump. It doesn't spin or pump If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. It pumps, but the water returns If the water that pumps out of the machine goes back into the machine after the spin cycle, your washer may be siphoning the water from a laundry tub that has a slow drain, back into the washer. The usual remedy for this is to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is something stuck in the drain?) Also, check for these problems: If the drain hose reaches more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut off the excess. If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

What does OE stand for on our machine?, it keeps coming up flashing and will not empty ,it is a mastermind 708

It is a long drain error and occurs when the washer is not fully drained after 10 minutes of draining. It indicates a problem with the drain system of your washer.
  1. Make sure the drain hose is not crushed, kinked or frozen. This will prevent the water to drain properly.
  2. Check the drain pump if it is running. If running, the drain pump filter is clogged. Clean the filter. In many washers a small sock or other piece of clothing or materials can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that is attached to the pump or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out.
  3. To remove the item from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Using a needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the stuck item through the port.
  4. If the drain pump is not running, you have to replace the pump pulley or the pump itself.
Please update me of the result or if you have findings.

What does "nd" mean on my neptune washer

Hello tana_carney4,

Your in the FAV6800AW forum so I’ll assume your machine type is a FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW. I’m an owner of the FAV6800AW with some hands on experience with the machine.

The ND error code equals No Drain. The microprocessor on the Control Board keeps track of the time needed to receive a Low/Mid Level fill indication from the pressure switch at the start of a tub drain cycle. If that time elapses and the pressure switch is signaling that the tub has watering remaining then you trigger the ND error code. Is the tub empty or is there standing water in the tub with the ND error code?

If the wash tub is empty and you fail out of the wash cycle with the ND error code then I feel you have pressure switch failure, the pressure switch is signaling the Control Board incorrectly. We need to go into Service Mode “Board Input Test “ and check if the pressure switch is signaling a -1 with an empty tub (no water). If rhe pressure is signaling a -1 with an empty tub then the pressure switch is false signaling “Stuck Pressure Switch” you will error out in the wash cycle with the ND error code and the Pressure Switch will have to be replaced.

If the wash tub has standing water in the tub with a ND error code to the console we need to check for a failed drain motor, a drain pump impeller jam/clog. We would go into Service Mode turn the drain pump and listen. Do we hear the drain pump turn on? If so will it pump out 5 gallons of water in about 25 seconds or less as my working FAV6800AW will do? Further troubleshooting will require a DVM to verify that 120VAC is applied to the drain pump, If we have 120VAC at the drain pump motor connections and we don’t hear it turn on we would need to remove the drain pump and check for failed motor or jammed impeller. If the drain pump turns on but we have slow drain out of the drain pump we could would need to remove the drain line from the Sump Cap to the inlet of the drain pump and check for restrictions and possible impeller damage to the drain pump.

The question is do you just want know what the ND error code is?

Do you want to DIY the repair? If not then it would be time to call in a repair service.

Here is the FAV6800A/ FAV9800A Service Manual link.

If your machine type is not a FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW then please disregard my post.

Intermitent failure to drain tub.

Hi

If your washer won't drain, check these:

It spins, but doesn't pump If your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged.

(Is something stuck in the drain?) Also, check for these problems:

  • If the drain hose reaches more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut off the excess.

  • If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

F 32 code problem

Mine had F51 and F32. After reading the solution #1 I checked the drain pump for any clogging but it was a broken wire (blue) in the pump connector. It was (long but) an easy fix, because the connector is IDC and we just need to open the cap, take out the remaining wire piece, reposition the wire in the blade and close it again, using a pipe plier. It's back to life.

Repairing the Water Pump

The error code occurs if the pump does not drain within (I believe) 8 minutes. With the tub empty, you have no resistance from anything to obstruct the flow of water. With the tub full, its going to put a bit more strain on the pump to extract water. If the pump motor or impeller are damaged, it may be just enough to cause the pump to run slow enough while the tub is full and cause the error code. If you have already verified all the drain lines to be clear, and have no drainage issues with your household plumbing, the manufacturer recommends you replace the drain pump.

Go to searspartsdirect.com and type in the model number you provided. The pump will be located under the "Pump and Motor" heading as item number 10 (part #280187). It is only sold as a complete unit.

If you need instructions on how to replace the pump, please read this link:

I hope this helps answer some of your questions/concerns. Let me know if you need further assistance.

I get an error message F32.

F32 is a long drain fault code. Tip your washing machine back far enough that you don't have to hold it up. At the back of the unit there are two "things" with hoses coming out of them attached to the bottom of the outer tub. On the left is the recirculation pump, and to the right is the drain pump. Take a wet/dry vac and get as much water out as possible through the end of the drain hose, then pull the hose off the drain pump, remove the pump, and look for coins/shoelaces/whatever might be blocking it on the inside.

What make and model is your washer? This applies to Whirlpool cabrios. Just reread your message and realized that I have no idea what you're talking about. F codes are pretty common in different brands, but "32" could mean anything. All depends on what you're looking at.

Whirlpool Duet Error code F 32

Plug off the wall. Open up behind, you will see a thin tube coming down from the control panel (pressure switch to be precise) to the waste area below. Disconnect this carefully from the top, blow into it, air should pass thru, it shd not be clogged; refit carefully. Before refitting, fit a similar tube to the pressure switch & blow - you should hear a click; if not there shd be a problem with your pressure switch. Anyway refit your old tube & try the machine.

Dont forget to refit the main exit hose at the position you found it. All you guys are going to rate me....................
