There
is a possibility that the antenna is defective. Sometimes a factory
reboot helps or re-burn of the firmware. One way to confirm an antenna
problem is to go into the tools menu and select "about". If the screen
says "GPS S/W = 0.0 (should be a real number like 2.9 or 3.0) then this
indicates that your antenna is not communicating with the main board.
Your navigon gps system should of have came with a cd with the drivers on it. If you didnt recieve it visit the manufactures website. Check the Drivers and Downloads Section.
Well after many emails to Navigon I got the fix for my 2000s What you have to do is download the 1.2 version software for the 5100 install it on a 2GB micro SD Card. Put it in the slot and turn it on. You will have to regester as if you have a 5100 but it will work. The reason you have to use a 2GB card is the maps are to large to go on the internal memory.
Caution! Selecting the (Cancel) button during these steps will cause the NAVIGON device to cease operation and will require the user to reset the device.
First Time Startup
When you first start your device, the LANGUAGE SELECTION WINDOW displays.
1. Select the appropriate language and tap OK.
The DISTANCE UNIT SELECTION WINDOW displays.
2. Select either Kilometers or Miles and tap OK.
The CLOCK SETTING WINDOW displays.
3. Select either 12h (am/pm) or 24h and tap OK.
The selected options will be used by the device.
