If the invitees are able to see you then your web-cam is working fine and it is the invitee who has the problem. So please ask them to reinstall the drivers to the web-cam or restore the PC to an earlier set date.
Please restore your PC to an earlier software installed date. This will reset the drivers once again on the PC. If not the recovery disc must be used to reset.
Try taking the sys to the BIOS screen and set the defaults after that if the sys doesnt boot up do a system restore by going into the recovery manager page from F11 key on startup to a date when the sys was working fine. IF that doesnt work try enabling the low resolution mode from the advanced boot options from F8. If this doesnt work out than finally you will have to run recovery on the sys.
All the best
Try first going to Acer page and download and install again the Cam drivers.
Also go to Control Panel > Installed hardware, and check if the Cam is listed under installed devices.
Check if cam is disabled, in that case enable it.
If the camera is not there, and installing drivers does not fix the problem, then the repairer may have forgot connecting the 4 pin connector to cam. Call the repairman and ask them how to proceed to have the problem fixed.
Please check in the Device Manager under "Imaging Devices" whether the "Web cam driver is listed". If the Web cam driver is not listed then install the web cam driver either using the Recovery Discs or from the location "C:\Drivers". Please do restart the Computer after installing the driver. Even if the web cam driver is listed under the "imaging devices" in the Device Manager then right click on it and unistall then restart the Computer and reinstall it. Next, use any video utilities such as MSN or any other to check if the web cam is working normally. It's required to configure web cam in the utilities to be used with any other utilities.
