I don't know how to get/find/use the timer on my camera FINEPIX SL245

Press cursor-down (marked with a one-handed clock) to bring up the self-timer menu, use cursor-left/right to select the desired delay, then press the MENU/OK button. Start the self-timer by pressing the shutter release button as usual.

Full details are in the "Using the Self-Timer" section of the manual (page 39 in my copy). If you need a manual you may download a copy here.

How to set self timer?

The self timer is indicated on the display with a clock type indication. It is circular arrow with a central arrow inside the circular indicating the timer.
Find this out from the menu. most of the camera have it with button seperately that can be pressed to set off the presetted time. This time can be set accordingly ... to your spacing.
Check this out and trigger the timer to set the camera ticking to click.

How do I set the self timer on my cannon a560 camera?

Press the self-timer button to cycle through self-timer settings. The rectangle indicates normal shooting, the clock indicates self-timer. Depending on the shooting mode, you may also see overlapped rectangles for continuous shooting.

To change the delay time, select [Self-timer] from the Recording menu.

The self-timer button is the same as the down-arrow on the circular multi-selector, marked with a clock.

the self timer usually works like this.
find the self timer setting and set it to 5 or 10 seconds.

note that the self timer will be reset to off after this.

Dimage Z3 self-timer

It is in the Drive mode, the options are single shot, continuous, bracket, and self timer. It is not very clear in the manual but it is on the 1st menu page, page 46. Navigate using the arrow button. The default is single shot. When you set the camera to self timer, after taking the shot, it will return to the previous mode, ie. single shot or continuous. If you always use the self timer, you can reprogram the flash mode button to set the drive mode without going to the menu, page 65 of the manual.
