Rear projection HD Hitachi Ultravision always has greenish tint
61" Hitachi Ultravision rear projection always has green tint. TV is 5 years old, and I have adjusted all settings to try to fix it. It is progressively getting worse.

This is what you're going to do, Turn on the Tv and go to the service manual, if the green tint is still there, you have a defective dmd board, but if it's no there, then you have an issue with your video board

hello my name is rico, you have bad convergence problem. you need to replace the stks inside the tv, and look for colder on the boards. you gonna need a gun solder, solder, chawick, 2 stks(look in the tv for the number loooks like stk392-120 o something like it) look for bad fuses. that should fix your problem. if you need more help let me know at 602-810-7149.

you will need to replace both convergence ICs they are STK392-110 you will also need six resistors (2) 2.2 ohm 1watt
(2) 1.5 ohm 1watt, (1) 3.3 ohm 1watt and (1) 1.8 ohm 1watt.
You can get replacemnet ICs and resistors at te following link with free instalation instructions. Here is the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
I have been advised that the color/light engine of the TV fails often and will typically create a green tint on this unit. I have one on order to get a replacement installed. BTW, it is not "user serviceable" and (for me) will require moving the TV to the repair shop for the change-out.
