Check the following before you replace the Magnetron device.

1. Check the diode located inside the unit on the noise filter board assembly. it may be damaged.
2. Check the Magnetron Cut-Off Fuse. this will shut off the heating device if there is a fan issue.
3. Check the H.V. Capacitor for burn marks and, discolored terminal points. this will be a sign of a malfunctioning Capacitor device. replace if needed.

If all is ok with the above check list, replace the Magnetron tube.

Installation Template for spacemaker xl1800

It *may* be included in new installation instructions if they are still available, or you may have to order them if they are still available.

You can enter your full model number (something like "JVM1860SD001" for example) here and find out the part number, then you can order GE parts at a good price from the Pros here.

For more free DIY and other help & advice, feel free to contact me via my site below.

Please include FULL model number*, FCC ID number*, and detailed symptom information. ( * on the tag in cooking cavity or around door frame or control frame or on back)

GE Profile Spacemaker xl 1800 JVM1860SD. Touchpad has stopped working. When power is turned on -get error message F3

F3 means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

The keypad is not available as a separate part, so you would have to order a control panel frame assembly, which comes with a new keypad on it.

Whether your model number is JVM1860SD001 or JVM1860SD002, the part number is WB07X10474 and a link to various suppliers is here.

They're not making these anymore, so order while supplies last.

This is a simple DIY job.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and carefully move your circuit board into the new frame.

10 yr old hotpoint Microwave model #RVM1325BW will not heat, vent, clock, touch pads all working.Hust no heat. If this needs to be replaced what model # should I get for the same dimensions?

I would say that your heating element has gone out. I don't know exctly what model you have, but I would guess it to be about 1.5 Cubic Ft., and a replacement would probably run somewhere around $150 to $200. There are many brands, but if I had no cost to consider, I'd probably go with a GE or Kenmore. Hope this helps.

No heat

Most common causes for no heat is bad magnatron, capacitor, or diode. This should be checked by a certified technician due to high voltage. Microwaves come with a 1 yr warranty from date of purchase and in some models the warranty is longer on the maganatron. Will need to check the owners manual.
