1. Turn tablet off. You may need to use two hands in this process to press and hold buttons properly.

2. Turn on the tablet with power button, wait a full 2 seconds from the time the tablet starts showing the red Motorola logo, then press and hold the down Volume key. (you should not hold down the power button after it turns on and logo appears)

(if you continue to press volume down at that message, the message will cycle through "RSD, Fastboot, and back to Android Recovery. How do i fix vertical lines on my tablet

If its no longer under warranty you can try opening it up and reseating the display cable but usually this is a bad GPU (graphics processing unit). It may have over heated or just gone bad and there isn't much to do at this point.

After reading the BIOS software, my Gateway CX200X gives the message: MBR error. what is this?

MBR stands for Master Boot Record. It is an essential piece of information written on the Hard Drive that allows the program to load. If the MBR is corrupted the computer boot process cannot proceed.
You have to repair it.
On old systems with a floppy drive you would get a Win98 boot disk on a floppy, boot the system using the A:drive (floppy) then use a DOS command to refresh the Master Boot Record.
If your system is using Windows XP tablet PC edition you might be able to use the installation disk to boot to the recovery console and use the command FIXBOOT or FIXMBR. You can also reinstall the Operating System.
I hope this answer gave you some starting point to investigate further. There are on the web some software vendors who sell system recuperation CDs. Some may be free other you have to buy.

Techies, please help! I've been having problems with my Toshiba R15-S822... I get the BSOD when I try to load Windows, but I can start in Safe Mode just fine. I've tried multiple things - system...

Toshiba support could be quite correct and service center solution the only one.

You could try this from the command line window in safe mode.

Open a command window and type CHKDSK /r (there is a space between K&r). It will tell you the drive is locked and would you like it to happen on reboot. Enter y then exit and reboot.

It's got me out of trouble a few times.
