Canon EOS 300D will not take photo's

I have owned a Canon EOS 300D for the past three years, I have enjoyed many hours of photography with this camera however last week I went to a local river to take some photo's of a family of swans. The first two shots that I took were fine but the third shot I took did not show in the LCD screen. Since then the camera will not record any of my shots, I have checked the CF card and have also checked the Pin Connections for the card. I have replaced the CF card with a new one but still to no avail, can you please help.

I've got a Canon EOS 300D i want the photo's to go onto the laptop, instant when i take them.. i dont have the cd-rom, what can i do?

The EOS 300D is called the Digital Rebel in some parts of the world. You can download software for the Rebel from

My EOS 300d blank images

That problem is normally associated with having a too high shutter speed when using flash. If it happens in any mode, with or without flash you may have a shutter blind issue.

Test the camera at various shutter speeds and compare the results. If this black area is consistant across different shutter speeds, send it in for repair. It is most likely the shutter curtain not making a pass across the sensor fast enough, still obscuring the sensor when a photo was taken.

Will a quantaray 28-105 1:3.8-5.4 Zoom lens Autofocus from a 35mm rebel ti fit on Canon EOS Digital Rebel 6.3 MP 300D?

The 35mm Rebel Ti and the Rebel 300D use the same lens mounting protocol. All Canon cameras designated 'EOS' use the autofocus EF lenses. If your Quantaray lens worked on the Rebel Ti, it will fit and should work on the Rebel 300D.

Canon Rebel EOS - Pictures download read Low Resolution

Canon Digital Rebel cameras let you set the image resolution from small jpegs (low resolution) to large jpegs (high resolution) to RAW (best quality, but require post-processing in your computer before you can print them). It's possible that as you were getting to know your camera you accidentally set the image size and quality to a low setting. Now you just need to change it back!

You make this change in the on-screen menu, under the camera menu (first menu, with a camera icon), first item (Quality). Although Canon no longer has the manual for this camera online, you can see This Review Page for more details on where to change this setting on your camera.

Canon EOS 300D LCD monitor problem

turn off the camera.
remove the battery.
wait 10 seconds
replace the battery making sure the power is off.
then turn the power on.

that might reset the board.
otherwise, you might have arced the power if the unit was on when the battery was removed. if so, you have a service issue you can't fix on your own. refer to qualified servicer.
good luck

Canon Rebel focus

I would only suggest you might clean the metal contacts on the inside rim of the lens....just be very careful what you use....a pencil eraser is good but make sure you clean away any shavings that might get into the camera...
