Why are my ice cubes melting and then the water drips down and freezes in the shelves. If I keep quick ice button turned on it doesn't melt. as soon as it turns off it starts melting again.

There is a heater built into the ice maker bottom to help release ice cubes from the machine. Under normal conditions the heater only come on when the ice maker starts to run and then jambs against the frozen cubes. When it stalls and jambs against the frozen ice cubes, the heater comes on to melt the cubes enough. I think you have a defective ice maker and the heater is coming on to much or at the wrong time, Since your temps go back to normal with the ice maker turned off, I am almost sure thats your problem.
The heating element is not working to heat the base and free the ice from the tray. At this point it's probably better to just replace the ice maker. They are about 60-70$
the defrost thermistor is your problem: it is going low (turning off) the defrost circuit far too quickly; it is a solid state version of a gas filled cold control sensor. It "tells" the adaptive defrost controller circuit board the condition: (frost level) of the evaporator and, intitiates the defrost mullion heater timer. if it turns off to soon defrost mullion heaters turn off and, icing occurs. I do not know; right off hand: which boards you are alluding to; however I believe you are referring to the power supply board for the
are you having any cooling problems? take a look at your ice cream, if you have any. does it look like it has melted and refrozen? if so, you have a cooling problem, and that is causing ice to melt, then refreeze. if you have no cooling problems, then you may have a faulty water valve solenoid, or even a faulty icemaker.
Same problem with my unit. The plastic tray seems to warp over time and the water drips out of the tray prior to freezing into the cubes. I was able to purchase a replacement tray online. I also discovered a hidden reset button under the right side where the ice tray motor assembly is located. This button had to be pressed in order to get it to cycle through again after replacing the plastic tray. We'll see if this solves the problem of water spillage all over the interior of the freezer!
If the ice melts in the ice maker I think something strange is going on with the heating element below the ice maker. It comes on only for a few seconds before the ice drops. And is used to loosen the ice. But if water continues to flow from the water control valve while the ice maker is full it has no where to go but into the freezer and refreeze. Sometimes the water control valves have trash buildup inside the valve and will not shut and allows the water to continue to flow. About the only way to solve that is replace the water control valve and place a pre-filter in the line before the water reaches the valve. Thanks, Sea Breeze
open the freezer compartment loo for ice build up on floor of frezer especally towards rear behind back panel. sounds like you have a clogged/frozen defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere, pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials)
