If the computer was working before you changed the power supply then likely you have not connected all the header wires properly. Check your wiring again. If you replaced the power supply because the computer was not working, then you may have an issue other than power supply, such as a bad motherboard.

I have a Dell desktop 2007 computer. I was making copies of ads...then my computer shut off and kept blinking YELLOW light and wouldn't come on again.. went to the computer shop and the guy took something...

He probably didnt plug the power cable to the dvd player since its not showing up.
Open your computer and see if the multicolor power cable to the dvd player is pluged in.

If not it probably went with the power supply he replaced.

HP Pavillion a1514n Won't Turn On

Yes even with the green light on it could still be the power supply. Have you pulled the power, opened the case, and pulled the BOIS battery? Could be the BOIS needs to be reset. You might also pull all the memory chips, turn it on and see if you get a beep code. I have had that happen in the past. Then I would replace the power supply (if you have an old one laying around use it to test, with just the MOBO plugged in). If the power supply fails, that leaves only the mother board as the issue.

Good luck, I hope one of these suggestions works for you.

I have a Compaq Presario R3000 with Windows XP OS. Until recently it had been working fine. Suddenly, the power went off while still connected to the AC Supply and the Laptop just went off. The battery...

1. Remove battery from the laptop. 2. Unplug the power cord from the computer. 3. Let the computer sit for a few min. 4. Leave battery out. 5. Connect power adapter to computer 6. Push power button to turn computer on. 7. If computer powers on shut down again, and put battery back in. 8. Push power button to turn computer back on (at this point battery and power adapter should be connected to the computer)
If computer powers on with power adapter with the battery out. You are having a battery issue. You would want to look into replacing the battery. If computer does not power on with just the power adapter. You are most likely having a power issue. Depending on how old the laptop is. You will either want to contact the manufacturer. Or take the computer to a computer repair shop, or consider replacing the laptop.

Power cord pluged in, turn on computer entered password, screen went black, power on button blinks green instead of steady on, wont do nothing else, what happened, what do i do now?

Unplug the power cord. Remove the battery. Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds then release. Plug the power cord back in but leave the battery out and try to turn it on now. If it comes on you can put your battery back in. If it still does not come on you may need a new power supply/ adapter.

My computer went blank when turning it on

1) Computer isn't working, due to the Processor isn't working, due to a bad Power Supply.
Weak voltage power rail.

Enough power perhaps to light LED lights, and maybe spin fans, but not enough power to turn the Processor on.

Computer Power Supply's are rated in Wattage.
Volts times Amperes = Watts.
(Average computer power supply in a fairly new computer, is rated at around 300 Watts)

A) ALL of the LED lights combined, use less than 1 Watt of power.
B) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts.
C) A typical Processor may use 51 to 125 Watts.
Depends on what Processor it is.

Power Supply with a weak voltage power rail, can have enough power to light LED lights, spin fans, but not enough to turn the Processor on.

Solution?
Test the voltages of the Power Supply,

Or, use a KNOWN to be good Power Supply, that has the correct amount of power cables, the right kind of power cables, the correct size, and shape of the case, and enough Wattage, for a test unit..

A bad Power Supply is one of the leading causes of computer failure.
