The default setting is internal memory, you need to change to SD card....follow these instructions:

1. From any Home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
2. Tap Camera.
3. Tap the Settings gear icon.
4. Tap the Settings gear icon in the pop-up window.
5. Tap Storage location.
6. Tap Save location.
7. Select one of the following:
   • Phone
   • SD card (you want this one)

Its running android 4.1.2 which is Jelly Bean and is hard to crack, you could give Towelroot by geohot a shot usually works for a lot of devices.
