Refilled Cartridge installed, but error U051 appeared and will not proceed to print

Hi, did you refill yourself or did you buy a refilled cartridge. If you purchased a refilled cartridge and the chip is missing, you will need to take the chip off your old cartridge and install on the refilled cartridge.

the printhead it is attached at each cartridge, so, there are two options: a) cartridge damageds or b) bad read cartridge contacts.
Do this, take out the cartridges, check if the contacts are clean and dry, then be sure to fix well again in the printer, if an error message appears, push the cancel button by 6 seconds, this deactivate the ink level sensor.If the error stay, 6 seconds 1 more time, if not works, I think that one or both cartridges are damaged, try with a new pair.

SOURCE: My Canon Pixma MP220 is has an error code U051 Chk

Using refilled ink cartridges will get this error. You have to reset the waste ink levels by doing the followin

1. Start with printer off
2. Press and hold resume Button (triangle in the circle) and click “Power” button. green led should be on
3. hold the Power button, release Resume Button.
4. Without releasing the Power Button, double click “Resume” button and then release Both Buttons.
5. Click “Resume” for four times then click “Power” button, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber).
6. Turn off the printer and turn on again
