I have water dripping down the back of my freezer from the fill tube going to the ice maker. It gets into the fan and starts making a bad noise. It also freezes on the freezer coils and it stops working. It took everything apart and can't figure out why it is happening. The fill tube appears fine. I also unhooked the water line and placed it in a pot to see if the valve is leaking and no water appears when the valve is off. Any other ideas?
Thanks!
SOURCE: My ice maker stopped working
yes or low pressure water pressure is what makes the valve shut so low pressure will let water leak past
SOURCE: Ice maker leaks water into Ice bend. When it cycles I can watch it drip water from the ice maker.
not familuar with the brand but sounds like one of 2 issues
if it is overfilling making ice cubes larger than normal, adjust the ice maker fill time if it is possible
icemaker fills and cuts off but water valve seeps water after the fill causing the water overfill
one of the 2
SOURCE: Ice maker not working
had a similar problem, the water filter in fridge was plugged, put in new one and ice maker started working again.

SOURCE: freezing food and leaking water
faulty water valve will cause the issues with the ice maker fill tube , possible faulty air damper will cause the fridge to get too cold
SOURCE: ice maker makes ice, but also drips water
cbscarter,
This may sound strange but you will find that the mold coating is peeling off of the aluminum mold. This causes the water to wick (climb) the loose coating and up over the top, leaking out making an ice clump on the ice maker and clumps ice in the container together. It would be easy enough for the average person to replace the ice make. Due to its age that would be smarter to replace than to repair the old one. It is a Whirlpool part #4317943 and comes with some instructions.
If this helped please rate me good, supertechks
