The printer doesn't print all the in their entirety. Some lines are fine but many are not.

Think you need a new print head which is a component in your printer. Canon ink cartridges just contain ink. HP, on the other hand, have ink cartridges with the print head built in to the ink cartridge so that every time you buy a cartridge you basically have a new printer.

New Print head installed. It will not align printer

is the paper coming out with the print on it, if so on most all in one printers it needs you to take the paper out and put it in the scanner and press the go button on the screen or the flashing light button on the printer to finish alignment.

Anyone know how to read the print out that comes out after you do a printhead alignment for the hp 3000? i can see everything looks pretty good except for one area. the area looks scattered and the lines...

HP print heads are usually a part of the cartridge so when you get a new cartridge you have a new print head. However, they do have a models with separate print heads.

If after installing a good ink supply and cleaning/aligning the works, performance is still unsatisfactory you may have no recourse other than to change the print head which can be expensive to the point where getting a new printer is more cost effective.

I am installing an i860 printer and it will not align automatically nor print properly. How can I do the alignment manually?

You should have access to a set of utilities in your printer set-up panel. It's called 'Canon IJ set-up Utilitiy'
There is a complete list of jobs that can be done on this printer there.
It normally does the alignment routine when you first install the print-head and cartridges. Is this brand new or just new to you? If you have got it second-hand then logically it won't need an alignment doing unless the print-head has been changed.
