Depending upon the damage, follow one of the instructions found here. If it is electrical, buy a replacement hose.

Dyson dc24 no suction from hose

If your Dyson DC24 vacuum has no suction from the hose, it could be due to a blockage or a problem with the hose itself. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the hose for any blockages or kinks. Remove any blockages or straighten out any kinks to restore suction.
  2. Check the hose for any visible damage, such as holes or cracks. If the hose is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
  3. Check the hose connection points to make sure they are secure and not loose.
  4. Check the filters to make sure they are clean and not clogged. If the filters are dirty or clogged, they can reduce suction.
  5. If the problem persists after trying these troubleshooting steps, you may need to take the vacuum to a repair center for further diagnosis and repair.

How to repair vacuum hose

Duct tape. I have had to use duct tape to repair the hose for my dyson I use in the garage. If you want you could also replace the hose itself. Start with dyson parts website to buy a new hose. http://www.dyson.com/parts.aspx

I cannot charge both my dysons. Working perfectly yesterday but not today. I think it maybe the battery charger

The manual for the DC27 can be found here (
https://www.dyson.co.uk/medialibrary/Files/Dyson/Support/downloads/UK/floorcare/Manuals/dc27_uk_manual_alf_120710%20pdf.pdf ) but is not so helpful in deep troubleshooting outside of looking for blockages.

I'm a little confused since you're talking about battery chargers, but this is posting under Dyson DC27/DC28 assemblies, which are both plug into the wall uprights. Are you possibly in the not-quite-right section? If so, reply with your model numbers and that may make things go a bit easier.

In general though, if you have dyson rechargables that both suddenly stop working, the charger is likely the issue. Look at the electrical contacts for both the batteries and the charger, and make sure they are clean (unplug cherger before touching anything, start, if possible, with compressed air to blow lint and such out). Check that the cord for the charger is not damaged, and that your wall outlet hasn't tripped a breaker or a GFI reset.

Good Luck!

How do I remove the fixed half of the dyson ball? Not the filter side but the fixed side? I need to replace the small hose that transfers suction from the floor head to the hose.

Hi Chad, it's Jack at Dyson.

The non-filter side of the Ball shell isn't designed to be removed by the user. Ordinarily if the changeover valve hose was damaged we would arrange for this to be repaired by a qualified Dyson engineer. As long as the machine has been used and maintained according to the User guide, the repair may be covered under your Dyson guarantee. Please note, if your machine is within the Dyson guarantee period and you dismantle the vacuum any further than is shown in the User guide, you may void any remaining cover.

I would encourage you to contact the Dyson Customer Helpline directly to discuss your options for repair. You can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

Is there a way to clean the hoses in a Dyson DC24 upright?

Hi Stacy, it's Jack at Dyson.

We wouldn't recommend attempting to wash or submerge any of the hoses on your DC24. Any residual moisture could cause damage not covered under your machine's guarantee, potentially resulting in a chargeable repair.

It's normal for the hose to become discoloured after a period of use - you can remove any external dirt or residue with a soft, dry cloth.

If you'd like some further advice on this from our experts, please give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Hi Vladimir, it's Jack at Dyson.

The DC08 Contact Head is manufactured and supplied to us as a complete assembly, and therefore we don't have the internal hose available to order separately. If the internal hose is damaged, it would be worth replacing the Contact Head to ensure effective pickup performance. You can order genuine spares directly from Dyson by visiting www.dyson.com

If you'd like further advice from our experts, please call the Dyson UK customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298. Calls are free from UK landlines, and we're available from 8am-8pm from Monday to Friday, and 8am-6pm on weekends.

There is a clog in the bottom hose how can i get to it? I have the DC28

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If the internal hose in your DC28 is blocked, you can remove the hose as shown in the video below. The hose has a push-fit design at each end, and should disconnect when you grip the plastic cuffs and pull with a firm, constant force. Once the hose is removed it should be easy to remove the blockage using the eraser end of a pencil or something similar. Please take care not to damage the hose as you do so.

You might also find our online Support guide useful in clearing the blockage: http://content.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1231&product=DC28-ANIMAL

I hope this helps. If you'd like any further guidance from our experts, please email us at [email protected], and we'll be in touch as soon as possible.

My Dyson DC07 vacuum works on the floors, but when I pull out the extension wand the coiled hose attached to the wand collapses and no suction goes through the hose?

Hi there, it sounds like you have a blockage in the hose. I have made a video to show you how to get the hose off and linked it to this answer. It is possible to split the hose in places trying to get the blockage out so try not to be rough. If you do damage the hose you will need to buy a new DC07 hose it is a waste of time trying to repair. If this was a helpful answer please take a moment to rate it or leave a testimonial.

I want to reconnect a hose to my dysons upright

You can find replacement hoses on eBay for the price of $20 to $30. Search for "DC07 hose". That, obviously is the easiest route. But, you can repair the old hose if the damage is near one end or the other of the hose. Damage in the middle of the hose will not leave enough length for effective use and thus buying a new hose makes since.

If you decide to repair the hose, you will need to use wire cutters to snip the wire in the hose below a point where the damage is and then use scissors or an exacto knife to trim away excess plasitic hose above the snip.

Remove the damaged hose section from the fitting that was cut off. You may need to use pliars to pull on the wire until it comes out. Check the inside of the fitting and remove any remaining debris so you have all of the grooves as clean as possible. The inside of the fitting is threaded like a nut and "screws" onto the hose. You will need some form of adhesive to help keep the hose attached to the fitting. I use silicone caulk for that purpose. Squeeze some into the threads on the fitting, screw the hose on and allow to dry over night.

Hope this helps.
