Acrobat and Canon DR-9080C not working

I am trying to use Adobe Acrobat 9 to scan in a batch of papers using our Canon DR-9080C and I am getting an error of "No page in scanner, add page to the scanner?". Capture Perfect works fine, but I would like to use the optimizing features in Acrobat to make the pdf file sizes smaller. It looks to me like it is a driver issue, but I don't know where to go from here. I have downloaded and installed the newest drivers, but still no luck. In Acrobat, I select Create PDF from Scanner, then select Black and White... then the error message pops up. The scanner feeder never raises up to start the scan.

You are right, it is driver related issue. Acobat 9 has more features that may not be compatible with the existing driver. may be you can use CapturePerfect and directly create PDF and then use the Optimising features of Acrobat 9. Ofcourse you have to do it twice, but you can use the 'batch' process and do it automatically.

Will not feed 11x17

You probably need to set the user settings to "long doc" mode.

1) When the machine is in the standby state,
press the NEW FILE key and Count Only key
simultaneously. During the user mode, the
LEDs of the NEW FILE key and Count Only
key illuminate and the address (U01-U10)
and data (the last digit) appear on the
counter display.
2) When changing the address, use the NEW
FILE key. Each time NEW FILE is pressed,
the address changes, cycling from U01 to
U10.
3) When changing the data, use the Count Only
key. Each time Count Only is pressed, the
data changes.
4) Pressing the Stop key exits the user mode.

Long document mode =U10; 0=normal and 1=long document mode.

I can't scan different document sizes (A3 and A4) in one batch with the Canon 9080C.

IF you are using CapturePerfect 3. version, you can select "Auto detection" for page size, and under 'more' select 'image size' instead of guide plate. Also you may have to select option '1' under user code U10 in case you want to scan pages over 17 inches long. (Press Newfile and Countonly simultaneously, press 'newfile' till you get U10, press 'countonly' and select 1. This will enable scanning upto 1 meter long).
CP3 has "Skip Blank page option", this helps you to automatically delete blank pages on the back side and scan only those with data.

9080c fails to scan single page; has trouble scanning a batch.

Hi
what size page are you trying to scan, if they are smaller than the gap between the transport rollers, they will not feed.

the single sheet problem you have:- the scanner knows when there is paper to feed when the sensor is pushed up beside the pick roller and it will put the tray down again when the rollers are pushed up. sometimes the little plastic sensor to the left of the roller gets a bit stuck and needs to be freed, it wares itself out where it hinges inside the cover around the pick roller. just unclipping it and cleaning it is usually enough.

good luck.

Canon 9080C not scanning 11x17 pages

The problem is probably in your scanning software, you have to tell it if you want to scan legal size, and if you leave it set for legal all the time it might put dark bars under the letter size docs. It depends on the version of software on your computer.

We recently acquired a Canon DR 9080C Scanner and purchases and installed a SCSI card in an older HP Pavillion. The scanner works fine using the USB port, but when using the SCSI port I get an error when...

CapturePerfect ver 3 is on chargeable basis! You can download ver 2.0 from http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0022439.asp?model= Though this is listed under Canon DR 5020, it works fine with DR 9080C. DR 9080C has very intelligent features and ver 2 works fine. I do not know if there are addl features with ver 3.0. I have used for scanning over 500,000 docs.

Canon DR-9080c scanner not lifting error no page found in feeder

There is a paper sensor just under the rolers in the lifting tray. Clean the area thoroughly with a damp cloth. Keep some sheets and try ]count only'. If it works then the sensor is okay, then you can try your scanning. If it is not sensing paper, check the sensor or connections to the sensor.

How to get rid of the 4 zero's at the end of the naming convention?

The scanner allows you to scan in batches and you can select a convenient name for a batch. If you start the first batch as 'A', then the first image will be 'A001.tif' , second as 'A002.tif' etc. If the next batch is 'B', then it will be, B001.tif, B002.tif etc.

Need CapturePerfect 3 driver for Canon Scanner DR 9080C

I have the same model Canon DR-9080C scanner which I recently acquired and I'm trying to figure out how used it is. I see many referrign to a counter. I see the big LCD on top front, but how do you know how many total pages have been scanned through it? I read somewhere there is a mechanical scanner. Is this true?

Canon Dr-9080C scanner

to check the page count install the driver and setup the scanner as a "scanner device" on your computer. Once you have done that , go to the "control panel" than "scanners and printers". Right-click on the device that says "Cannon DR-9080C" and select "properties". The device information will appear, than select the "counter" tab on the information box; the scan count will be listed.
