My DVD player, keeps freezing and the sound disappears, The radio plays for a while, but then just stops. It doesn't shut down, the sound just vanishes.

The last problem is probably because you have not ?finalized? the DVD yet. Basically what that does is modify how the data is stored on the DVD so that a normal DVD player can read it. It also prevents you from modifying or recording to the disk any more so make sure you?re done before performing this. The part about the freezing is more complex, are these commercially recorded DVDs or something someone else recorded?

Try running a dvd cleaner through it first, before trying anything else (the type that looks like a DVD with a brush underneath).

The regular DVD might have been a fluke (scratches, rental?, burned dvd?)

Was there anything special about the new Blu-Ray Disc - what was the tile? On certain titles, you may need the firmware upgrade found at:

there is something wrong with your the powersupply of your player that is why it shuts down, its a safety feature, if the secondary PowerSupply heats up, the player automatically shuts down..
