Access generates individual files which are the complete database, the interface and control program.

Simply deleting this file will destroy the database. the extensions for Microsoft Access Database files are:

*.MDB (Access 2007)
*.ACCDB (Access database 2010 - current)

I need to perform access database repair

The repair method attempts to recover only the tables, indexes and queries in the database. Do not attempt to repair damaged forms, reports, macros and modules. Before executing the Compact and Repair tool, please ensure the following condition:

1. Do not Open Access database must closed
2. Sufficient storage space available - minimum double in size of your Access database on that Disk.
3. Close the .mdb file related to .ldb file before you delete the .ldb file.
4. Then Run the Compact and Repair tool

Have you tried creating a NEW MDB, and then IMPORTING the objects from the Crashed/Corrupted MDB?

This will SOMETIMES serve to rescue most if not all of the corrupted entities .

What is IBMDirector.mdb and IBMDirector.ldb? what is use for and how to removed?? Thank you!!

Anything that ends with .mdb belongs to MS Access and is a database file.

The IDMB is a massive database that deals with tracking movie information.

The ldb file signifies the database was opened at one point, and if not open now, was not cleanly closed.

You should be able to safely delete both of those files if you do not use the database.

Delete the .ldb file and then the .mdb file.

Access problem

see if the LDB file still exist and delete it...

Whenever you open an Access database, a file with the same name as the database and an extension of LDB will be opened automatically. For example if you open Northwind.mdb in the samples directory of your Access/Office installation, a file called Northwind.ldb will be generated. This new file keeps track of users and the objects that require some form of locking in the database. When all users have exited gracefully from the database, the LDB file is closed down and deleted.
