I can't figure out why my Navigation won't pull up, when I hit the navigation button I can here the beep, but nothing happens not the screen. It doesn't try to put the GPS on to the screen it just stays on the radio screen or the phone screen. Does anyone know what might be wrong and how to fix it?

SOURCE: i have an alpine iva-w502

This issue is solved with an update available from the Alpine website. The way it was explained to me is that every time you turn the unit on, it loads that overlay warning screen (even if you don't select navigation), so when you do go to the navigation, there might be 5-10-20-however many times you have turned the unit on overlays. Basically you can keep pressing it and eventually it will go away (if you have turned the unit on 100 times it would get a little annoying though) or you can download the update from the Alpine website and the issue will go away.

I have an aftermarket radio/navigation system in my truck. when I hit the navigation button it is looking for the following. \storage card\navione\navione.exe,check sd card. my card is blank

You have a defective NAV system, pull it out and send it in for repair or.... Just use your cell phone's Google maps app for navigation, it is far better then any car nav system.

Honda navigation

check fuses.
if DIY savvy, login to alldata.com
buy the FSM and read.
dont mess up, some NAV need a password code if you kill power to the NAV head. so RTM , never work on new cars FSM free
or make way more costly mistakes that any FSM ever cost.
RTM or take it in.

all cars, hell all machines, in the mil; they say RTFM.
for good reasons.

How do you get into the bios

When you first start your computer, it will go to the computer manufacturer 'splash screen'. (Manufacturer logo)

At the bottom of this screen tells you the key, or keys to press, to enter BIOS Setup.

This window of opportunity goes by real f-a-s-t.
The best method is to find what key, or keys need to be pressed, to enter BIOS Setup.

Then as SOON AS YOU PRESS THE POWER ON BUTTON, start tapping in 2 second intervals, on that key, or keys.
This way you won't go past the window of opportunity.

{ You may hear a beep, or beeps, as you tap on the key/s. This is a Stuck key Error Code, and is nothing to worry about }

There are many different keys used to enter BIOS Setup, for a computer. (Desktop or laptop)

This may help,

http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/bios_manufacturer.htm

Remember;
1) When in BIOS Setup you can no longer use the mouse. You have to use the Keyboard.

2) At the bottom of every screen in BIOS Setup, is listed a navigation guide. It is Not labeled Navigation Guide.
This tells you how to get around. (Navigate around)

3) Use the appropriate key on the Keyboard, to highlight the area you wish to go into, and then the specific parameter you wish to change.
Then press the Enter key.

4) Unless you Save Changes, it will be like you have just looked around, and done nothing.

5) Look at the parameters already set. You may wish to write them down. IF, you make a mistake in the BIOS Setup utility, you can go back, and set the parameters back to the way they were.

Also in the navigation guide to the right, it usually tells you what key to press to go back to the factory default settings.

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

{ If you want more than generic information, you have to at least post the computer manufacturer name, and Model Number, in a Comment }

KVT 819DVD navigation Icon works but does not launch navigation blue screen - I have to hit the "V" button 3 times to get the navigation. Shouldn't the NAvigation Icon automatically launch the gps system?...

Ensure that NAV is set to auto. To set it up you have to access the user setup menu. To access that you would have to press the FNC button and look for the wrench Icon and scroll down until you get to user interface. Also keep in mind, whatever screen that you are viewing before you shut your vehicle off is the screen that is going to pop back up once you start your vehicle up again. Let me know if this works for you.

Installing the DVD Map Disc Your dealer/retailer may have installed the map DVD. If the map DVD was not installed, do the following to load it:
Read the following steps completely.
  1. Turn the ignition on. The vehicle must be in P (Park) to perform this operation.
  2. Press (power) to turn the navigation system on.
  3. Press the NAV hard key.
  4. Touch the Insert Map Disc screen button. The screen opens to access the map DVD slot.
  5. Load the map DVD partway into the slot. The system pulls it in. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
    Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
  6. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.
  7. Set the search area. See "Setting the Search Area" earlier in this section.
Ejecting the DVD Map Disc The navigation portion of the system cannot be used if the DVD map disc is not loaded.
  1. Press the MENU key to enter the Menu options, then press the MENU key repeatedly until Nav is selected or touch the Nav screen button.
  2. Touch the Map Database Information screen button.
  3. Touch the Eject Map Disc screen button. The screen tilts, exposing the map DVD slot.
  4. Press the eject button, located next to the DVD map disc slot, and the disc ejects. Pull the disc out. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
    Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
  5. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.
