Philips 20PF4121 LCD tv no picture but flashing error codes

Tried turning on the tv and initially you could hear sound but there was no picture. The green led was flashing one long flash followed by four shorter flashes then repeating that. Now I try and turn the tv on and there is no sound either and the led is just constantly flashing. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Thanks very much for the quick reply,
I have changed both of the cables on the tv they were justa standard aerial connection and a scart from a digital box. The tv still has no sound or picture and the led power indicator on the front of the tv is just flashing constantly and rapidly.

What ios the input source to the TV is it AV? if it is check the Video cable try interchanging the coloured cables....secondly if the sout\rce is AV try touching the core of the input and watch for a flicker;if it flickers it implies that the TV is ok but the input source is faulty. Please clarify input source??

I had exactly the same problem When the TV was switched on all I could see was a flashing green light. After cheching the TV internals and not seeing a problem including the power supply unit which looked and checked normal. Here is what I did to get M TV working again.
Disconnect it from the power supply. Hold down all the buttons simultaneously i.e. the on/off, the volume, the programme, menu buttons, all of them simultaneously and Plug it into the power supply again.
Lo and behold My TV jumped back into life after an absence of about 4 weeks.
Try it yourself exactly as above.

Best of luck.

Hi! i have a philips 20pf4121/05 flat tv.it won't turn on and green light is flashing few times and that s it.do you know how i can fix the problem?

Not likely to be a do it yourself repair. From the model number it is a 20 inch and if the power supply board is bad may not be economical to fix not to mention quite often on the smaller sets parts do not exist.

I own a philips flat tv 15pf9936 that when turned on only produces sound. I've tried changing inputs/settings, but I can only hear whatever input is selected. Occasionally, if I unplug the tv while it is...

shine a flash light close to the screen when the failure occurs. If you can see video playing where the flash light illuminates the screen, then the back light of the flat panel TV is out. This is usually due to a power supply failure of the back light inverter. You can take the thing apart, and identify the assembly. Nine times out of ten you can locate a replacement module online if you know the part number. Good luck.

42 inch philips lcd no picture no sound

Sometime a no picture, no sound still has the power light or some other led blinking. The blinks might be an error code that will isolate the problem.

In general on LCD TVs with no picture, no sound, no blink code, the main power supply has failed. The capacitors weaken and when bad enough, damage the power supply.

If there is a blink code, the most, if not all of the power supply is OK and the blink code could point to the problem.

37" Philips LCD sound but no picture

Check the inverter on the sides of the TV. This sounds like the inverter is going bad and that's the reason why you have sound but not picture.

relay clicking is a power board failure --- part of the board still works to supply power to the flashing lights--- the lights are related to an error code while in protection mode

When I turn on my TV it goes straight to the menu screen. You can still hear sound but no picture. When I try to exit you see the picture for about a second then it automatically flashes back to the menu screen. Even if I try to use the functions in the menu screen it flashes right back to the main menu screen. Very frustrated...need help!
