No, 3 month old F & P freezer door needs to be pushed close. F & P tell us that is normal and the advertising saying that the door is self closing only applys to the fridge not the freezer. It really needs a lot of pressure to close and will not close by itself even from approx 100mm.

Also have had a service person have a look and had a phone call from F & P brisbane today, very rude, kept talking over me and kept repeating that this was normal. Seems their quality has gone downhill and their service as well.

Ah, I understand your frustration. It's extreem, but it might qualify for a class action. Only two needed to start it here in the states. I'm guess you are an "Ausi" ? So your rules may be different. I would think it would be easy enough to fit a spring at the top hing point.

Amana BR22VL refrigerator section stopped cooling.

is there any frost on your food packages or on the ceiling where the light is?if so the door was left open and the air vents are froze up or you have a bad damper or evaporator fan motor, open the freezer door,do you hear the fan blowing?if so the fan motor is good, check for ice on the ceiling and packages,if that checks good look at the back inside wall of the freezer,if that's covered with like snow or frost you have a defrost problem or also you have a damper in your model,it's closed and won't open to let the cold air in from the freezer.
http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Damper/R0161050/223353
go here, this is the part, all that happens is the evaporator coil in the freezer gets cold, the evap fan blows the cold air from the freezer up into the fridge section,in your model the damper door opens to let the cold air in,when it gets cold enough the damper closes and that's it,so if the door wasn't left open and the fan is blowing in the freezer you have a bad damper.

My amana bottom freeze refridgerator door in opening a little when the top door is closed. do i need to adjust the screws or is it something with the seal?

raise the front legs so the machine is tilted back a little, this will help the top door close easier, also most likely you have nothing heavy on the door itself, all a fridge does is move air,the evaporator coil gets cold and the evap. fan blows cold air from the freezer into the fridge side and the air keeps circulating, when you shut the top door it's pushing the air down into the freezer and popping the door open, like i said raise the front legs a little and put stuff on the freezer door so it has some wieght to it and it won't pop open.hope this helps salde

Freezer drawer slides

you have to keep the white wheels on the rod even or the draw won't close correctly, pull the racks out fully open and even on both sides, you might have to adjust the wheels so both sides are even,i use a marker and mark the wheels, now when you hook the door assy on.you have to make sure the wheels stay in place or when you close the whole unit one side of the door won't close all the wa,it's a little tricky if you never tried to line them up before but if you mark the wheels part numbers 12002497 so both sides stay lined up it will close correctly. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Maytag-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-MFD2560HES/3048/0161000/M0412077/00009?blt=06&prst=0&shdMod=MFD2560HES this is the sears site and will show you a picture of all the parts.hope this helps

Doors won't close independantly. Magnetic "strips " hit and freezer or frige stays open slightly

Hi,
Has the unit recently been moved or the doors removed at any time? Either the door are not aligned or they are damaged around the hinges some how. I would adjust doors from the top of the unit, assure not product (food) could obstruct the door from closing. Lastly double check closer at the bottom, this is a two piece system and I had seen this come apart recently.
I hope this helps

Fridgedaire Upright Freezer Door won't stay shut. Normally when closed, you hear the seal take place, now it pops open

Check the seal in the corners on the side of the door your hinges are on, ya may need to tack it down with crazy glue, but usually it'll curl in the corners preventing door from closing or pop open after you walk away
