Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

SOURCE: canon powershot sd 750 not uploading

it is possible that your cable is defective, if you replaced it already with a new one the problem is in the unit usb output circuitry, there maybe a loose connection or the module inside is bad, profix is needed. I suggest that better get a card reader cause the price of fixing the problem is too much compared to purchasing a new card reader.

SOURCE: COMPUTER WON'T RECOGNIZE CAMERA TO DOWNLOAD PICTURES

Have you installed drivers for it from either online or a cd-rom?
Did it ever work and if it doesn't now, when did it stop working?

USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED

Turn off CPU, Unplug Power cable, And all usb devices, let it sit for about 20mins. Plug it all back in. Turn on the CPU! Also make sure if your device requires "DRIVERS" or if you have a CD download and install that before anything.
