Your hard drive is failing or has failed. The recover process "F5" might overwrite your data so I don't recommend it. Install a new hard drive, install the operating system and drivers. Then install your old drive as a second drive and try to copy your data from the old drive to the new drive. If you don't follow what I am saying, you need to take the computer to a professional PC service center.

How come when I turn on my computer it goes to black screen that says [F5] key for HDD recovery?

It believes that your hard drive is corrupted (crashed). Press F5 and let it try to recover the data on the drive and isolate the corrupted area. Pray that it isn't the operating system that crashed.

I have a Coby Netbook Model NPBC1023XPPUR. When it starts up, the Coby introduction screen comes up and then goes to a blank black screen. What can I do to fix this?

First, Cold-Start the machine, unplug, remove battery, hold down on.off button for 30 sec., leave battery out, plug in try to boot normally, is the HDD led blinking? OR, System restore/recovery. At the Coby logo screen appears, press and hold the F7 key to start system recovery, follow instructions. OR remove HDD test, replace if necessary.

I tried to turn my laptop averatec sl5110H -01 on m it does not boot up , the power light is on but the screen stays black. No running the window xp

You need to give some more details. For example, are any other lights on?Is there any noise from the fan, or from your hard drive? when you say yourpower light is on, do you mean just the one that says you are plugged into AC? Or do you mean that your system light is on?
If you can hear fan or HDD, you can tryconnecting your laptop to any monitor, to see if you get a display. Also one of yourF keys + Fn can turn off your screen.Make sure you did not turn it off accidently. If you can get a display on a monitor, and your screen is not switched off,you need either a new screen power inverter, or a new screen. If you can't get an external display, the fault is almost certainly with the motherboard.Unfortunately, that would need replacing and may not be worth doing.

I am looking for a copy of the factory restore disk for averatec 1000. anybody have one?....

I am trying to do the same thing. Included plastic cd case with original box states to hit the f4 key once averatec logo appears. I tried this along with every other key and nothing brought up the recovery software screen.

DVD video shows on laptop, but black on projector.

Assuming you are connected to the projector via the VGA port On the laptop, you will need to select the VGA output to work - there will be a picture of a screen on one of the F keys at the top of the keyboard, F4, F5 normally on laptops, but can be any of the F keys ----- (assuming F5 as an example ) use the FN key and the F5 key together it will then toggle between the following <laptop only><laptop and VGA output><VGA output only>

Th these PC Desktop problems? Averatec D1002UHCE-1 All-In-One Intel Desktop PC - Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4GHz, 2GB, 320GB, DVDRW Averatec D1002UHCE-1... I have an all in Solve I have an all in one...

Try to work through the steps in this article. or this article.
If that doesn't help, here's a workaround that seems to help in some cases:
"Yea I have the blank screen too for my averatec 3200, but there's an easy work around
for some reason it default goes to the monitor port instead of the screen
all you do is press function screen( Fn F5) twice and you can see again. Whenever you see the blank screen pop up just change."
\
You might also google 'blank screen at logon' and check for other options, such as here.
If you get windows up, try this:
Run chkdsk c: /f or /r according to these instrucitons & these. (you can also run this from the recovery console or cd).
This could be the result of a driver conflict or issue. Run windows update and check for graphics updates, or follow these instructions to update your graphics/video drivers.
There's also the possibility that the problem is malware related, in which case try to follow these instructions.

My averatec 7100 series laptop don't work. you turn the power on and the lights come on but you don't hear nothing and the screen is black.

I have the same problem with one of my 7100's I can get the screen to come on if I hold the delete key when powering on.Sometimes takes more than one try... and doesn't fix the problem. F2 will take you to the BIOS to see if it is detecting your hard drive. Hope this helps....
