WD320 GB 2.0 USB external hard drive is not working.

I was working with my 320GB HDD and suddenly the windows disappeared as if it got unplugged. There after on plugging in again the computer doesnot recognise the hardware. This WD pin is WD3200ME-01 S7090A and S.No.WXE209P60363 R/N..B8B. Tried with other computers but none recognised the hardware though the indicator lights up. Myoperating system is XP.

Hi.. i need help.. my external hdd transcend store jet 320gb have problem... when I conect HDD to pc blue led blink just one time and hdd stop working..

Check that the USB cable can provide enough power to the hdd. Check that the USB port is powered. Older USB slots may not have enough power to run larger external HDDs, there you may require separate power to be plugged into the hdd. Are you using the original USB cable provided with the external HDD?

Device no reconized , my W7 don't want install drivers for simpledrive 640 GB pinifarina

The usb device not recognized error generally means the right drivers are not present on the computer. I would expect that Windows 7 can recognize most external HDD automatically, but you might need to install a driver for it.
But try the disk on a different USB port, or even computer, to see if it still works properly.

External HDD no longer recognized by new win7 PC

Probably not the right answer for your problem. Mine is an external 1 TB Simple Drive. Mine wouldn't respond at all. I unplugged the power cable from the back of the hard drive and replugged it in and instantly it worked. I had tried rebooting the computer, plugging/unplugging over and over into the computer and that didn't work.

My buffalo external Hard disk is not working in the Philips DVD player. 4 gb pen drive of Sony is working. What is the problem..? how can I correct it........?

Some usb input ports on dvd players, projectors, etc. have a limit to what size it will read from. Right now it's usually 4 gb to 32 gb.

HOW TO CHANGE 320GB SATA HDD TO 500GB SATA

Yes. The case doesn't care what size the drive is. The computer is just asking for the USB driver for the case. Check the WD site for the driver for the model of MyBook that you have. That should cover it.
